I must admit that I enjoyed a cup of "Crappaccino" while in Shanghai last week.

Mustn't complain though. It's better than my Chinese.

Italian vanilla mutton chop - ee-ew! And "the week beats the fish soup" sounds dodgy - must have gone off!

And as for "swallow to take the fish sand" - let's not even go there! There's too much fucking going on with food nowadays...

I know you're supposed to eat a bushel of dirt before you die, but ordering sand off the menu is taking it a bit far.

Just goes to show that the Chinese famines were worse than we thought - they had to be pretty desperate to start boiling up birds nests, I know, but how hungry do you have to be to start on the pulverised silica?

And as usual, in times of affluence the things they were once reduced to eating in desperation become "delicacies" and now retail for 1000 times the price of the bowl of rice they couldn't get back in the bad times...

In Valencia I had a chinese meal - one dish was Arroz con tres delices.....

Look up the english for clarification, and there it was. Rice with three delicious. Proof that not only do the chinese menus get mistranslated into English, but the original Spanish translation of the chinese can also be rubbish, resulting in not being able to understand the menu at all, no matter what language you might know.
