Hi all.

Just doing the introduction thing. I'm the unfortunate pillion of aff-man :msn-wink: and have been convinced into 'this whole biking thing' by him. Looking out for a bike at the moment, still havent got my Learner's and stuff but I'm working on it.

And on my mother. Living at home is great and cheap, but it comes with some unfortunate overprotective consequences :msn-wink:

However, here I am, pillion until otherwise stated.

And why DON'T we get peanut butter M&Ms in New Zealand? It's a travesty.

Bugger that, that stuff was good. 5 bucks got me 6 McChicken sandwiches or 6 Bacon Cheeseburgers or 6 Whoppers. And the candy gave me something to nibble when I got the munchies between meals. It's a wonder I'm so thin really.

Anyway, enough of that. Hijacking the poor ladies thread and all lol.

That's OK, hijacking threads is all part of daily life.

And besides, hijacking threads to talk about junk food isn't merely legitimate, it's fantastic.

See, much as we can criticise America, they have turned out some FINE junk food.

(ha, after saying that, it seems it's a wonder I'm so thin too. I have a fear that I'll but my leathers and then after Christmas I'll look like a whale trying to fit into a swimsuit :eek5:)

It's so bizarre...I know all the names of those things you just mentioned, but I actually have no idea what they all are. For all I know, a Twinkie could be a lemon flavoured salmon sandwich.

I know it's not, but to be honest, I don't actually know what it IS.

Ooh, but we DO get Pop Tarts in NZ...at least we used to. I don't know if they're the same though. :-/

TACO - FUCKING- BELL!!!

Taco Bell is grossly over priced though. Taco Delight however... Half the cost and the food is about twice the size of taco hell. Also miss Phillidelphia Cheese-steaks. If you don't know what that is you're missing out. I worked at a cheese-steak place for a year eating nothing but and never got sick of them.

And Welcome to the site.

You can get Reese's Peanut butter cups here, they use to sell them in the Foodtown at Manukau. And a variety of dairys in Auckland city. Think I saw them at Uni once as well this semester.

I'm sorry, it sounds as though you can get Reese's Peanut Butter Cups AND Peanut Butter M&Ms in New Zealand.

Did I hear correctly?

Because it simply does not seem possible that I can have missed this very significant point.

Are you sure they aren't just peanut M&Ms? Because they're simply not the same.

Haha, looks like I've hijacked my own thread.

Welcome - I haven't seen peanut butter M & Ms either - I think what people have seen are just the peanut ones - ugh! I love the thought of peanut butter things - Amway used to sell these chocolate bars that had a creamy peanut butter filling and they were so yummy!

I think I have seen Reeses peanut butter cups, but only in flash confectionery stores and the like. Check out the Warehouse though, they are selling Baci chocolates now and I haven't seen those for years. (Knowing the Warehouse, they have probably been discontinued and they're old stock!)

Good luck finding them - you can shout us some and we can have a peanut butter get together! I wonder what wine goes best with peanut butter? Mmn, may have to have a peanut butter sandwich for lunch now!

Well Mr.Biff-ite that was me. Yup that's right me.:eyepoke: Now stay on topic. Also miss the 58oz Double Gulps at 7-11. (http://bestdog.stanford.edu/Baby%20web%20page/Big%20Gulp_small.jpg) That should give you a size reference, if you read the card it says the baby weighs 8lbs+. Only about $1.50 for any kinda drink you wanted and 88 cent refils if you kept the cup with you. Also you could do something called a Kamikaze wich you filled the cup with every kind of soda that was available at the fountain. Yes the gas stations had fountain drinks like the ones you see here at Burger King.

You miss English chocolate more than you like NZ chocolate?

I didn't really like English chocolate. I found NZ chocolate far creamier & nicer. Except Galaxy, which is GOOOOOD.

So what is 'proper' English chocolate? What's it like?

Hard to describe really... probably just my imagination, rose tinted glasses and all that, but there is definitely a detectible difference in choclate between here and the UK, I would imagine it goes back as far as the soil which grows the grass which feeds the cows who produce the milk which goes into said chocolate.

(waits for hitcher to have a field day)

Well, it's probably my equally rose-tinted glasses that make me think NZ chocolate is better, so I hold no grudge! :yeah:
