Not. I farkin hate the whole new year thing. Partly because I am a lugubrious old fart, probably, but mostly because it forces you to review the past year (it was crap) and anticipate the coming year (it will be crap...most likely).
So cheer me up guys and gals! Tell me what terrific and exciting things you've got to look forward to in 2006. Not "I'm going to get fit" or "I'm marrying my gilfriend" or "I'm giving up smoking" or mundane shite like that. Interesting stuff. Like ..... I'm joining the Taleban, or I'm finally getting out of jail, or I'm having a sex change op.....

On the cards for me in 06 is a new (2nd hand) motorcycle, but that may still come in 05? How's that for a terrific & exciting thing to look forward to!! :woohoo:
Compliments of the new season to all.

The New Year means more working, more sleeping, more eating and drinking, more weekends away, two extended bike trips, painting the last two rooms at home, working around the house.
Sounds bloody maarvelous when I think about it.

It's just another day, albeit one that gives me some time off.
To work on the house, and hopefully the bike.
It looks increasingly likely that 2006 could result in me either getting fired, or having to resign, unless I can fix summat. :violin:

I will be working from 6pm to 6am on New Years Eve, then I will be sleeping on new years day and going back to work that night. Sound like fun?
2006 will hopefully see me learning how to do mint wheelies and other cool stuff. That's about as much as I can think of at the moment.

(No, wait, that's last year's list)...and the year before, and the year before that, and...just go out and buy yourself a new bike and it'll take your mind away from the grim reality that any new year so-called resolutions are usually forgotten within about 1-2 months after the year starts off!

Course for deck officers on ships, really doing it so i can get some good connections with some of the cruise lines and 'sea time', because for your 2nd mates foriegn going licence you need 12months of sea time............with seamen :D

Thanks Zed. We've been together for 9 years, but I think she wants to break up, hence her insistence that we should get married.

Hi Indy, I asked because I was at sea for about four years as a Marine Engineer when I was a young fella. I still have friends in and around the industry, thought I may be able to help but it was such a long time ago and now I am about as out of date as a BSA in a bike shop.
Us old fella's still think we are young, need a reality check every now and then. :slap: Good luck. Cheers John.
