I gave my mates one a quick test ride. It's was really nice. Handled well, had plenty of power, the ride was nice even with the knobbly tyres and you were the highest thing on the road. I don't know anything more about it though sorry

I think you mean the 300, that is a two stroke or do you mean the four stroke. my dad has an 2003 EC300 and it is a great bike, wouldn't be great because of the uncomfy seat.

EDIT: This is my post number 588, the same number as my race number hahaha

Gasgas 300 is a good bike. Stay away from the diesel pig. You will regret it.

Four Strokes are awsome. I would get it, only if you are only doing short commutes.

Gasgas make very good two strokes but I have heard even from a dealer that sells them that the fourstrokes are not yet up to standard, and when your talking about a 2002/2003, well you can figure it out. They are fuel injected (at least the ones I have seen on the side of the tracks with the seats of and the rider is trying to fix the wiring to get them going has been). Kickstarting does not work with fuel injection. Have a problem with the electrics as they seem to have issues with and your stuck.
I would be interested if you can find a favourable test on a diesel Gasgas. Everything I have seen and heard has been negative. Just my 02c.

I haven't heard abou the electric probs.hmmmmm wouldn't think it would happen on such an expensive bike. according to John Nick from KR the 2003 Gas Gas's were the best that came out, and are better then the newer gas gas bikes.

There is no way I’d want to expect a modern hi performance 4 stroke to survive long road rides. They get their incredible performance by sacrificing reliability, ok if you intend to keep rebuilding them for racing, but a drag otherwise. GG’s first attempt at a decent 4 stroke wasn’t super successful.
I have a 2 stroke GasGas & think they are brilliant & would highly recommend one. But then again not for huge road miles.

An oil changed DR or XR on the otherhand will keep going & going, but they are ages behind performance wise. Buy an adventure-tourer or a road bike.

Although Gas Gas do make motards. I think they do make a 400 or 450 or somethign similar

I got my EC300 frm John N an its great but don't give it to much credit cause its still in need of "plastic" surgery as the plastics are held on weakly and my sub frame has had to be weilded at least 7 times
