View Full Version : What's this chamber thingy on the engine?

On the rear of the FXR engine there appears to be something like a mini chamber attached to the motor. It's located on the cylinder fins section below and to the left (or was it right?) of the carburetor. It's quite tiny, about the size of an apricot.

Does anybody know what it is and its purpose?

This must be a South Island bike - the weather up here is too warm for apricots,so we never got them with that fitting....

It's quite likely the cam chain tensioner. Saw some pictures of a SV650S and ours look closely related.
