Hey folks,
I'm gonna be heading down to the Coromandel Celtic Fair on the morning of the 2nd. Plan is to ride straight down to Thames via SH1; SH2; then SH25. From Thames carry on up to Coromandel town, then stop and wander around the Fair for a couple hours.
After I've had my fill of the Fair I'm gonna carry on round the Coromandel going clockwise. Depending on the weather and energy will probably head back to Kopu via SH25A then home to East Tamaki via Miranda, Kaiaua, Kawakawa Bay and Clevedon.
If any one is keen to join me for part or all of the trip let me know. I'll park myself up in the Wendy's carpark by the East Tamaki Rd off ramp at 09:00, leaving at 09:30. Could also meet others in Kopu at around 10:30-10:45ish.

Will see what I'm up to on that day and what the funds are like. If possible I'de be keen to chill at the fair aswell. Might be a bit like Scarlesburough Fair back in Texas.

Long story but I won't be going up to Papakura for a while. Trying to sort something out with the folks for gascash and such. May end up carrying my mom pillion up to this. Still trying to get ahold of her though. She tends to ignore her phone when family is on the other end.
Everyone else is probably going on the coro trip the day after this one.

Shit mate I still went. Never said I wasn't going was just making a statement about what the weather looked like. Actually turned out to be pretty pleaseant. Sun for the majority and when the clouds rolled into where ever we were we moved on. Didn't rain till we left Tairua and then it was only spitting nothing really worth worrying about. But came down in buckets on me after Matatoki, and kept comming down all the way till just out of Hamilton. Nice riding with ya again Slash and good to meet ya Zapf.

Heh heh, well that was a good ride allright. A bit slow through some stretches due to retarded cagers who drive at 60kph on the open road and don't know to pull over and let the tail of 12 vehicles past but at least we had a safe one. No demonstrations of outright idiocy by the general public.
Zafp and I split from Waylander at Kopu whereupon it started to rain continuously and wandered back to East Tamkaki via Miranda, Kaiaua, Kawakawa Bay and Clevedon.
I usually take that route at full tit, so was interesting to roll back on the throttle and enjoy the misty scenery. Was challenging doing the twisty bits in the hills on a wet shiny road but we both got back to town with out incident.
Hope you guys have some good weather for you loop run tomorrow. Me, I'm off to the 'Naki for some camping.

was in coromandel today but was confined to the cage for the drive from thames-coro. Saw a couple of ducatis and an aprilia and later on a CB750 and a crash damaged R1 but no slashwylde or any of the other KB faces i know...
just rode home in the rain, traffic was 50kmh for about 10km back from the motorway along SH2. Only got wet for about 2mins in when i was going through auckland but got home safely all the same.
Gotta say the road from coro-whitianga is nowhere near as fun in car as it is on a bike.

ah ic... 2 KBer IDed me in the crowd at Coro today :) WeeStomer and The guy on a Fireblade from last week :)
Lots of cages... and a good few bikes too... love the 900 it makes short work of passing the cages. (hint vibes are 1/2 gone)
I missed meeting this morning as I was running late... so gassed up at the said Wendy's Caltex and hopped onto SH1 and SH2 -> 25 and up to Coro town hoping to catch up with Slash, didn't see them on the way but end up running into them at the fair... which was all good. Wasn't too keen on spending the rest of the day myself. Got some photos at the fair... (had too much bike gear to carry!) (photos will be posted up tomorrow) all in all a good day.... and those Michellen Hi-Sports are not very good in the damp are they? it feels like they are slippery in the wet.

We saw those guys parked up furhter down from us when we were leaving the fair then they caught up with us as we were having some grub in Tiarua. And they passed us as we were stopped at Kopu at the end of it all, so we were around lol. That Aprillia has one nice sounding note to it but I gotta say I liked the Ducatis more lol.
