I did a search but couldn't find anything, so can anyone out there tell me if Gisborne still has Street Racing?

As far as I know they have been stopped.:oi-grr: I wish they would put them back on the calendar. It was a great day out and a great ride up. Go to Paeroa instead.:niceone:

So when was the last time they had street racing there? I only ever went once, about '92 or 93, on a borrowed bike....and dropped on the Taneatua Railbridge on the way home:Oops: broke a handlebar & hurt my index finger:crybaby:
Oh I will definitely be at Paeroa, only missed it once:slap: but would have been good to do Gizzy as well.

IIRC, the last Gisborne race was Feb 2003. I understand that one of the problems is that the track is round the Montana factory, and Feb is their big wine-producing month. I understand they normally work 24/7 at harvest time.
It was a great race meeting, and I'm sorry to see it go.
Anyone from Gizzy got an update on whether it might happen again?

I'll send an email to my sis. She's a bank manager up there so I spose she'd have to approve a whole lot of new bike loans for it!

In Gizzy at the mo andf whilst at Smash Palace was having a yak to some mates in the wine industry. Not only is it Montana but also Mainfreight, Sunrise Products are right in the main part of the track, on the Lytton road corner.
It is after all the Industrial Subdivision....and most are flat out around feb. But there no reason why it can't be at different time off the year.

I recall it being on the 2nd of January when I was there. Wish they'd start it again. Was a good meeting.
