Let us all stop for a moment and think about all the emergnancy services and the work that they do: Police, Ambo's and Fire departments... and the volunteers as well.
Who are out there attending all these accidents this Christmas holidays, and also during the rest of the year.

They are doing a grand job, BUT they are also having to deal with some horrible things as well.

So many have died on our roads this christmas period and many more are being hurt.

I want to say that all you gals and guys doing this job are fantastic.....
I know its a blardy hard job to go and tell the rellies and have to go home with what you have just seen and dealt with.

I appauld you all.:spudwave: :spudwave:

I know there are many of you here on the KB site, so I won't name you all.... just in case I happen to miss one off the list.... But you all know who you are... THANK YOU.

You gals and guys deserve that beer or top shelf drink at the end of your shifts...

I also always wave to the ambo's, Fire and police as I pass you all by on the roads.. So if you are wondering who it is.... on the cruiser... It is me... saying thanks for the grand job that you do.

Here Here. Well said.

Don't take it personally but I hope to never meet any of you in a professional manner.

Same here... a lot of shit gets thrown at people, mostly the coppers.

Whilst some of it may be justified, they're still doing a job that I wouldn't want to do.

So in the immortal words of Ali G - RESPECT!

yes i make sure to always give a thumbs up or a nod or something to ambos as they took care of me when i had my accident.

scared in a way to wave at cops cus they pull me so often do a check then drive off if i wave theyll prob think i got something to hide lol.

fire trucks. don't see any lol.

but thanks for all your work guys much appreciated as much as i hate being stopped and sometimes ticketed you all do a great job have a drink or 10:) but then don't ride or drive of course.

Too true! I had to see a couple of coppers dealing with an unruly yob at a gas station yesterday. They ended up pepper spraying him. Good f*cken job too - the attendent reckoned he was smacking his g/f (?) around on the forecourt. She was screaming at he cops to stop hurting him - WTF??

its nice to know people stop and think about others we all need to appreciate what others do especially this time of year when they are working their bollocks off taking time out from their families

Thanks people. I've printed this off so my colleagues on station can get some warm fuzzies too. We couldn't do our job without the help of all the other services, so big thanks to Police, Fire and all the doctors and nurses in ED.

But the biggest thanks need to go to all the volunteer ambos and fire in rural areas. They give up their own precious time to provide emergency services to their community, year round. Those that unselfishly give up their time are true heroes!

Best post in weeks Crashe, very well said, and very true. Often a dirty, dangerous, and down right thankless job, and these people come to our aid every time. Utmost respect to you all.

Yep, my life was in the hands of the paramedics, er staff, specialists and ward staff at Wellington (and later for my graft, Hutt hospital) after that car driver that just couldn't look or wait took me out (according to reports). I hope the extra 3 seconds he/she made on their journey was worth it.

The fact that I'm here is huge evidence that those people know what they're doing, do it well and don't give up. One of the radiographers refused to let me go until she had the x-ray/ct-scan she was looking for, the one that finally showed the tear in my aorta (that big, really important blood vessel thingie of my heart).
