Folks I had a heap of fun last week riding a quad bike
Theres a crowd called taupo quads that do escorted tours down specially formed quad tracks.
I took a 3 hour blast on one of the suzuki 250 sports quads--Theyre a 250cc 4 stroke 5 speed manual but auto clutch.
It wasnt hard to ride-- my only hassle was trying to slip the clutch up hills and grabbing a handfull of back brakes instead. -a case of knowing too much really
It was an apsolute blast going from tight (really tight) uphill corners to steep hills up and down -deep mud and puddles then flying over whoops that had the bike with its wheels well in the air.
The views were spectacular and the riding was through forest and bush not just open farmland.
Pillion was on an identical quad --This is a woman who has NEVER riden a bike -she struggled a bit for the first 5 minutes trying to figure out how to ride and brake and gears and omg its muddy and slippery and ohh no im sliding sideways and ...... but once she was shown how to get it into second gear and just leave it there she had a ball
Asor baby bikie--that lucky lil bugger first off got to ride an 80cc quad then when the going got (semi) serious hopped on the back of a quides bike and got to be on the fastest ridden bike.

Sounds like you guys had fun Frosty...

We did a stint at Muriwai beach on a few quads, was a blast, maybe you should think of taking Pillion and BB there for round number 2 :D

Me and Deathstar have done that... really good fun.

They do it in Rotorua as well, few hundred metres up from the luge track, but Taupo is the best by far.
