The smoke was coming from the guys shoe before he got near the other guy, and his bike was going down before it hit.

I'd imagine his foot hit the ground, and that jerked his body so he pulled the handlebars too sharp or something...

Well the first guy was going slowly, the second guy was going a bit quicker and then brakes, the third guy was giving it death and continues to accelerate hard for maybe 1 second AFTER the second guy brakes. So there would be a fairly big speed differential. Bike number three is accelerating with his right foot off the pegs. Then it looks like once the muppet FINALLY reacts he rapidly lifts his right leg up and STOMPS on the back brake, so he locked the back wheel.

You'll notice he's got the throttle pinned and he's looking over his right shoulder at the start - hence the delayed reaction to the slow-down up the front.
Definitely not an experienced rider so the rentals idea sounds about right.

They showed that video on the CBTA course I took. The 3rd guy was looking at his right foot - his jeans were caught on the foot peg & he couldn't put his foot on the peg! When he finally releases he gonna hit someone its too late + he panics :nono: and puts left foot down :nono:, locks front wheel and hits the bike in front bins it.
