Have thought about that sort thing myself, the bright idea i had was our own coast to coast like they have down Manawatu way. Mangawhai to Muriwai was what i had in mind. Camping grounds at both ends.

From our experience...to try and organise anything in this place is almost impossible, yet whenevr one speaks to ppl, they as keen as mustard, but when push come to shove...they fade faster than cheap dye on a fanny rag.

That'd be me.
Sorry.

Hrrrmm.... At the risk of saying, "Hell yeah!" then pulling out, I'd be interested, subject to ManagementApproval, of course. And the weather. And finances, tides, planetary/stellar alignment, and AllThatShit. We've been wanting to do a weekend trip, and TheFesteringSeason was a total bomb out as far as that was concerned. Zero riding, zero trips (apart from running in the 205 GTi), and zero fun. :crybaby:

So count me in as a definite "maybe". Hawke(s) Bay sounds good. As does the other.

Umm... I'm not quite up with the play.
When is D'Auckland D'Anniversary? Sometime towards the end of this month, n'est ce pas?

To Gisborne are you intending going through the gorge or around the cape ?

I just done that ride, cept Taupo, Naiper, Gisborne way. Take care from Gizzy to Hawkes Bay the roads are a bit dodgy in places, and if it's hot be prepared for wet tar seal. Still a good ride thou.

Be sure to go to Smash Palace for a beer. It's in da industrial subdivision.

Yeah it doesn't help when there is several things goin on @ once. There's the Northern Exposure Tour and the Woodstock Rally as well as the one you guys are organising.......... I'm sure half these buggers sit behind their computers all day and don't get any 'actual road time'...........

I totally agree Qkchk, the amount of ppl that are on this site daily compared to the ppl who accually go out there and ride are negligable. Its one thing talking the talk.....its all together a different thing to walk the walk.....or in our case...ride the ride......lol

One reason is that most rides are on Saturdays which isn't the most convienient for some of us.

Again I have to agree, Saturday rides are somewhat difficult for us as well with family obligations comming first. Sundays are however always a go...
