I have a dream. That one day, my sgs rev counter will have a shift light.
My questions are
a) does anyone else have one?
b) is it viable as a DIY?
c) do I have to make it myself or can you just buy one and bolt it on? If so, where from?
d) is it easier to have a seperate light/LED or to get an inclusive one with rev counter?

All SERIOUS replies appreciated

This model also has battery voltage and the display can be set to various readouts....because each light is adjustable and the number that show,it can also be used as a reminder how fast you are going.

I had a factory fitted shift light on my 2003 R1 in the UK, and it was adjustable fron around 6,000 rpm all the way up to red line. I found the sweet spot for a clutchless gear change around 7500 and it made life easy as the light was so bright you could'nt miss it. I found it really usefull.:chase:

Thanks people. I got the idea after seeing my brother had one in his van, which was just a standard rev counter, but had the light included in the dial. It had a little knob you twirled to set the limit, and a small red hand(much like an alarm clock one) which indicated the shift.
I'd also like to NOT spend hundreds on a multi bulb supercomputer one either

If you have a facorty LED shift light like on the ZX6, rip apart your dials and resolder in a higher MCD LED, it makes it a lot more visable

I dont currently have any sort of light, and after asking around it looks like all the kit on the market is for 4 cylinder or more engines. Might have to ask a tech guru mate about making one up methinks.
