Been thinking about how the Auck riders organise & do the Coro ride on a regular basis. It is a great ride because of the roads & scenery & company.:grouphug:
Maybe we have a ride that could be compared to that just waiting to be discovered or put together...........:third:
Tomorrow i intend riding over to Kawhia on the west coast. The intention is to treat it as a bit of an explore/expedition as I have not been there for years.:scooter:
Aim to leave Rotovegas at 9.30 from BP Koutu and head for Putaruru onto Arapuni and Kihikihi to Pokuru or Tihroa and out to Kawhia.
I believe there is a nice cafe there that serves a good lunch.
Another option would be to come back via Otorohanga and Mangakino to Whakamaru, Atiamuri and home thus covering and extra route to possibly consider for another ride that way.:yeah:
Anyway if your interested let me know.
I am going anyway.
Sorry about the late notice but it only happened today:yawn:

Weel got back to Rotovegas at 3.30.:buggerd:
Great ride, really good roads, lots of twisties, scenic, Kawhia is quaint little town.:blah: Also went for a quick squirt out to the ocean beach, but couldnt stay as car park isnt visible from the beach and I was bloody thirsty.
Had lunch at a cafe looking out over the harbour.(steak sandwich with salad & coffee = $9.00)bloody good to.
Whole bunch of BMWs, a hog and SV1000 all there already finished their lunch, smiled and said hello but didn't get much of a response so sat by myself.: :whocares:
Took a few photo's on the way out just to show I had been there.:nya:
Really nice ride and KB's from Rotovegas should look at this as a possible ride in the near future. Not forgetting the riders from our neighbours from over the hill at Tauranga.:grouphug:
Total 380kms for the day.
I didn't stop that much and when I did it was short, only to have a drink, take a photo or give my arse a rest, but there is a few places that would be ideal to stop and have a drink and a yak etc.:yeah:
Anyway that it from me and that it from him........:bye:

Sounds like a great day out! Sorry I couldn't make it. Should have the bike sorted early in the week so next time I will be in fore shore;)
Have only been to Raglan once(first time I met Rick & Fish & Chip.... I mean Spud) and have studied the map of that region, looks like a few good summer rides ahead. I have another two mates from Puturaru, on SV650's who ride those roads all the time.(lucky buggas:angry:) Im sure they'd be keen too.

We just had a good ride. From your end it'd be past Whakamaru & Arapuni then turn off and head for Karapiro. The western side of Lake Karapiro is excellent. Lots of tight, twisties with plenty of up/down hills and a decent surface (a few patches have Lichen, but there isn't much).
What we could do sometime is those from Rotovegas/Taupo ride UP that route and meet us in Hamilton, then we could ride back DOWN it and then go our seperate ways. That'd be a great ride.

Ok, will have to try and give people more notice next time and maybe we can get a decent group together similar to the Coro rides.
Speaking of, are you going on Tuesday......the reverse trip through Paeroa/Waihi/Whang etc should be good.

yep, we've got some nice lil' roads around; Waikite Valley, Te Waerenga Rd, Oturoa Rd, could do a nice lil' circuit and ride back to Hennesseys...
WS, got any photos from Sunday ready yet?

Oooh yeah...I lived on Te Waerenga rd for 5 years....Its cool now its all sealed, was even fun when it was gravel. I usually use Oturoa rd too....cops love the main highway and its too easy to speed down that hill.
