Alright all you sissy boys/nanas/big girls blouse's, get yer asses down to Shell westgate at 1pm for a nice little blat out to Piha via Scenic drive for a feed/watch cool surfer dudes/stare at hot chicks in bikinis.
Rather just keep it to sprots bikes, pace will probably be medium-ish, but i will have a person stop at each major interestion (there is only one or two) so that everyone knows where to go. So if you aren't a fast rider dont worry bout getting left behind.
So far it's TristanKKK, Aff-dude, and the Sexy VFR chick (aka the C in CaN)... so if you are youngish then i hope to see you at Shell at 1PM
I will wait till about 1.30 before leaving.
The route will be: shell westgate - motorway to lincoln road - universal drive - some road through swanson - scenic drive - piha road. If you go to www.wises.co.nz its easy enough to follow.
Sorry if thats all confusing, im in a talkative mood tonight (if you couldnt guess) hopefully its been slightly entertaining :Pokey: to read.
My cellfone number is 0272532246, so text me if your gonna be late or want to know if you qualify as 'youngish' or 'cool' :apumpin:

I object!!!!! :2guns: Since when have others on cruisers and tourers been excluded and what's with the youngish statement - Age is relative!!! What has Christine done with Noel? ;) And won't he be lost without her for the day!!

i knew this would tie some peoples undies in a knot. A lot of the time these rides happen without people knowing, i just wanted to go on a ride with people of a similar age, nothing against anyone else. If you want me that much just PM me and we can go for a cruise some time.

The 'Wing can handle medium/fast pace without any difficulty. Am I allowed to participate, or do I have to leave you all behind at the start?

Actually 53 years old in February.;)
It is quite easy to pull a wheelie on a Goldwing. Scraping the pegs isn't that dificult either.
Regarding airline training, I did my PPL (Private Pilots License) have you??? You can't be a Top Gun without learning the basics first. Some of the things that you learn in aviation come in useful on a bike, as I'm sure that other pilots on here will confirm.

whats with all the tantrum throwin? And YOU know YOU want ME, its a fact, your an older woman, you cant help but fall for me! Ask Keystone, Crashe and VVV, they all love me :baby:

been doing flightsim since i was 6, got serious about the age of 10. Never got around to doing the real thing. However i am 3 years away from being a pilot in the air force. Not quite top gun, but when the NH90's arrive i'll be making sure its the next best thing :devil2:

I'm talking about REAL FLYING. Yes I have had every MS-FlightSim since 1.0.
Unless you have done real hands on flying, you have no idea what it's about.

done an hour in a CT4 and an hour hanggliding, also sat at the controls of a Hercules at 35,000ft (real life).
Very soon i will be clocking up a few hours, not so much to get my PPL but i have a few mates that are almost there.
The airforce prefers pilots to be trained ab initio so that you get into 'their way' of flying thats why i havent gone for the PPL.

FS didnt become and acutaly flightsim til v4.0, and it didnt really become anything like flying until FS2000. The real place to do flight sim is with X-plane.

can I suggest a possible (more interesting) alternate route from westgate to scenic drive?
Don Buck road -> Red Hills road -> Sunnyvale road/McEntee road -> across the intersection on Waitakere road and into Bethells road -> Te Henga road to Scenic drive.
They're less suburban than going through henderson/swanson and bethells and te henga roads are quite nice. The other roads are more interesting too.
I'll see you at westgate.

May i suggest if you wan't to start a kindy club you start your own site for all the little boys and girl to join. The bases of this site is to combine ages, types of bikes, and gendas for one and all to enjoy. I'm sorry that your running around with a chip on your shoulder but your arrogance, stupidity and disrespect is not really welcome or appreciatied by this member.

Just so everyone knows...i wasnt part of the "lets just invite young people" idea. Im sorry to say that i will have to agree with Wendy on this one. This site is for everyone and i personally enjoy riding with all ages.
Considering i have only had my bike for a couple of days i wouldnt mind having a more "mature" rider out there to look after me :2thumbsup (notice the word old isnt in there :oi-grr: )
Im still going to be there for the ride but the more the merrier in my opinion.
Come on guys, a ride is a ride!

8th January 2006, 09:42
okay, so i was bored. If you talk to some of the 'older' members in auckland you will find that I too enjoy riding with people of all ages - how else would team milf have started???
if it was a 250's only ride no one would have complained, its just a ride so come if you want - its not my road!

Sorry I missed the ride, there was a road accident of some kind at the end of old north which meant I had to double back to Waimauku and take SH16 to Westgate from there. You guys must have already left by the time I finally made it there. I ended up doing a bit of exploring around the senic drive area, including Huia, Piha and Bethels beach. Some really good roads around those ways. Saw quite a few bikes but mostly cruisers and turkeys on mini choppers.
Hope you guys enjoyed your ride.

yeh, we got held up a little buy some guys on cruisers on the ride back along scenic drive.
Saw a few goldwings before we left, hoped it was rhino coming to show us how its done but alas none of them pulled in.
Was a good bit of fun, especially watching dave discover what vinegar in a bottle is! :slap:

Ahhh, if you hadn't have posted I wouldnt have clicked. I thought it was a TLs following me (your model sv and the TL's look very similar when they're in your mirror!).
That road comes sorta into the back of Kumeu then back out again onto the road 500m down from the accident. I was heading back to coatesville. Bloody huge detour if you ask me!

Yeah, we got turned around at that one. Thought it might have been a bike for some reason. Those one way bridges through there are dodgy. Have had a couple of incidents where cages have not given way and I've had to slam on the picks. Guess they have trouble judging how close we are to the bridge before we get there. If you're riding Old North and Peak Rds, be careful on those bridges, someones going to die on one sooner rather than later.
