Ok So I'm looking at getting a second hand bike ... well with around $8000 I wont be getting an R1 that's for sure.
I was looking at the '95 ZX9R that's at Henderson Motorcycles and having a word with Adam who is the dealer there. The bike has done 50,000k's but still looks pretty mint (in comparrison to my old bikes). I'm trading my 'not running' other bikes in on it so I'll be gettting it down to $6500
Has anyone any other suggestions on perhaps getting something in the same range. I'm going to be heading down to the Sth Island in Feb for abit of a tourer/holiday so am really wanting something a little bigger. Suggestions is this an ok price for this kind of bike? or does anyone know of any other bikes that maybe up for sale?

I'd suggest looking on trademe or in the bikes for sale lists on here.
An example of what's on trademe would be something like this:

You'll notice the k's are considerably lower and it look's pretty nice. You could probably negotiate it down a bit.
I guess it depends on whether you have the cash or are looking to finance it really. If you have to finance it you can probably negotiate a better finance deal with a company of your choice rather than just going with the one the dealer uses.
What ever you decide, good luck with it and try and keep the shiney side up.
