Dont rant much but this realy REALY pissed me off!

right I took the family up to the Huranui camping on Saturday morning, the plan was to do a bit of dirtbiking, eat some BBQ and drink some beers, we had a great time in the arvo letting the kids ride their bikes around the camp, now my 6yo got a husky boy jr for xmas along with all the gear etc, and I cant put in to words how much he loves his bike, i mean he cleans it after every ride,cleans and puts away all his gear he just loves the whole biking thing.....well any way saturday night we decided to put all the bikes away for safety sake, so we had my surf with the quad in the back, trailer with my KDX250 one side my mates KLX300 the other and the wee husky in the middle, then we parked my better halfs car behind it so you would think it was all prety safe....NOT!
at 4.30am im awoken by loud shouting, some COCK SUCKERS, had decided they deserved the Husky boy more than my son did and proceded to try and flog it, they didnt realize that my mate was asleep in the car that was parked behind the trailer, so my mate hearing the noise jumps out of the car asking WTF they think they are doing? they drop the husky and run for the river with him in hot pursuit, by this stage im awake and start chacing (no one as it was pitch black and couldnt see shit)
well to cut a long story short the fuckers got away, and when they droped the bike they broke the airbox off:tugger: !!

Now im sure it was someone from the camping ground we were staying at coz any oportunist type theif wouldn't have seen the wee bike sitting between the 2 big ones on the trailer, whitch means they would have seen a wee six year old blasting around having a ball, so what kind of pond scum thinks its ok to nick a kids xmas prezy??

we spent 2hours walking around looking for them but no luck....I would so dealry loved to get my hands on the gutless pussys...but no such luck...whats the world comming to when 2 grown men try and steal a kids bike......

we had stuff stolen from Totoranui campground a couple of years ago...its a 1 hour drive on a hard gravel road to get to that damn campground.

heaps of shit gets stolen from around there....I was living just down the road from there at saltwater creek....some cunt nicked me 15,000 quad...and other neighbours on farms always had shit stolen....fuel/diesel was another big thing...I had diesel stolen from me...while there...theives are just cunts..

i have herad of pepole camping at coromandal having there boats taken from the bays .thay come in at night pick up the ancher and tow them out .my mates had the removable tow bar taken from there hsv the night before they were going to go for a fish .its a bit hard to put your boat in the water with out a tow bar let alone bring it back from far north to aucland

I had my trailer broken into over the holidays (see thread) and they stole a pitt bike, an outboard and all my tools. I also went camping over the break and took my dirt bike. It was chained down at night just in case. I've come to accept that I'm not living in the same NZ that I grew up in.

If it's any consolation, my neighbour caught a hoodie (the early settler variety) in his garage and beat the crap out of him. When the cops arrived this shit wanted to press charges. The cops laughed.

There was a case about 5-6 years ago, where a guy was riding with his son & neighbour's son. Him & his son stopped at one point to wait for the neighbour, heard him riding along, then bike stopped. Bike then started & headed other way. They rode back to the carpark & no sign of the youngster. When it started getting dark, still no sign of him. Eventually they did find him (it was either dusk or dark, can't remember) - he was walking along, crying. Some charming person had decided he needed the JR80 more than the little one riding it did, so had knocked him off & taken the bike.
The car had been spotted during the day, but it had no plates & no one thought to phone the cops about it (heard about it later that weekend & met someone checking out all the JR80s at a trailride a while later in the hope that the nicked one was there).
Not sure if they ever found the lovely people or what happened to the kid, but I hope he did continue riding.
At least they didn't get your bike, I guess.

So thats the campground at Balmoral Reserve? We were camping there from Xmas day to New Years Day, heaps of parents with kids on little bikes etc, good to see, gutted to hear about this though!! Have heard that at that site a few years ago, that a family came back after a day out and every thing was gone, tent, camping gear, BBQ etc, all gone....kinda suprised me, I must admit but certainly some shit heads around. Damn shame that you didnt catch them, the committee who run that site are pretty good, have a chat to Tracey and Travis at the Huruni pub, they might have some leads maybe?
