I own and am quite happy with my 04 Blade but I took the 05 ZX10 demo for a thrash last week and man what an awesome bike!. Its more comfortable to ride than my blade, it steers nicer at low speed city traffic (roundabouts etc) it wheelstands effortless and it gives you a real kick in the arse from about 7000rpm. I was a bit dissapointed riding the blade home straight afterwards.

The blade (in my opinion anyway) looks far better but its just doesn't give you the same feeling as riding something a bit more mental.

Anyone else riden both? What do you think?

I've ridden the CBR, but not a ZX10 yet. Also rode an R1, but I wouldn't be able to compare any of them.

Thinking of a change? What about the '06 ZX10 or K6 gixer? Both exceptional machines, and I think the kings of '06 imho

I saw the black 06 636 in the flesh at Mt Eden on the weekend. By god that is a hot piece of bike. Check out the '06 10R when it arrives, if it has any resemblance to the 636 it will look damn hot in black (only seen green pics so far). I just hear they have more animal in them than most thous. Not that I know, never ridden the darn things.

Looking at the '06 ZX10 I don't like the new pipes, look a git ghey to me.
But its supposed to go really fast, speedo goes up to two zillion km/hr....at least.
Of all the new bikes I like the look of the new Gixxers with the stubby zorsts and the new Triumph 675 looks a lithe little beasty.
Either way the ZX10 is better than the CBR I reckon, the CBR's are a little soft still compared to the hard edged Suzuki K5/6 and the ZX10 etc. Although as a pure road bike the CBR is nice and compliant and easy to ride.

Not thinking of a change just yet but when I am ready I will definitely be looking at the ZX10 or Gixxer (unless Honda add another 30 ponies to the blade for 07 - which we all know isn't gonna happen!)

I've ridden a ZX10. .... Bloody mental thing it is.

The only bike I've ever ridden that's scared me. Use that throttle just a little too much out of a corner and it'll have you chewing tarmac/hedge/hospital food faster than you can say, "People that say Hondas are ghey insert furry animals up their own arses. Unlubricated"

I was a Honda boy for years, Im pretty much open to anybike as long as its got good design and suits me.
You must admit Honda's flagship bikes are slightly lagging when it comes to outright performance.
Although Honda builds good road bikes, that when tweaked by HRC are world class.
Whereas Suzuki builds good race bikes that make reasonable road bikes.
I'd still have an 04 blade though :) its just if I was offered the two I'd for the same money (unlikely) then I'd take the ZX10.

one thing I think a lot of people forget, when it comes to 6's and thou's, is that people look at the figures on paper, and forget to realise that the majority of road users who buys that machine, will never reach the potential. So the fact the CBR 6 and thou is one of the chunkier ones on paper (sorry, but it is) and could do with some more ponies, in the real world, it's just as fast as you are, regardless of what machine it is. Go for the looks and price, not how the racers rate them..

HOT what the fuck are you smoking, a VFR800 looks better than than the new ZX10R. I love the 04/05 shape, fkn evil looking bike and the only one i'd buy over a GSXR. I couldn't care if the new one pumps out more HP is lighter handles better etc etc it's a style thing (coming from a guy who rides a certain TL, style means a lot :bs: )

The 04/05 ZX10R is like the K3/K4 GSXR's still got that angry streak too em, all thses newer 1000cc's (even the GSXR) are getting tame. In saying that a turbo would fix that problem.

I agree with LBruce (WTF?)...VFR800 do look fantastic.

I love orange, but thats a weird orange. Buggy's bike orange I like, thats more like karatane yellow (sp).

For some strange reason I hardly see ANY ZX10R's down here.

if you like excitement you cant go past the zx10 or gixxer1000 , the blade is bringing up the rear as usual , zx10 won master bike in 05 and the gixxer got iboty , the blade really is the soft option , no disputing the looks , especially the repsol , but they all look the same from the pilots seat so as long as im getting a sporty japper i want it to go like a sporty japper. honda should be concentrating on hp and not stupid things like electronic steering dampers

That was an interesting read that MasterBike. Did multiple mags cover that? I liked the accompaning article on the 600's in the AMCN Sportsbike mag.

I rode all the different manafacturers' 600cc, 750cc and 1000cc bikes prior to the purchase of my 05 CBR600RR. Each bike felt different and they all had their pros and cons. As far as the cc rating went for me, the 600-750cc size was going to suit me and I really got the impression that a 1000cc bike was going to be a waste of time. Realistically I could not see when or where I would ever use the extra horse power. Where as the smaller bikes were more rideable IMO and still offered more than my limits required from a bike. Between the one litre bikes, I found the Honda the easiest bike to ride as did the 600cc bikes, but I guess everyone will have their own opinions that will vary from one to the next. At the end of the day, try them all out for size, as I did. Its heaps of fun test piloting the demo bikes and gives ya a decient idea of whats on offer. Once you have done so, then go for whatever your wanting. Be a boring world if we all rode the same model of bike eh?:niceone:
