*Warning rant ahead*
Well lets see. Started off the day pretty bad, late for work and all that but hey managed to not be to late...
Then it turned pear shaped.
I work for an electronics company and they had ordered in some pre-made boards with SMD components... the real small ones that they use the pick and place machines for..... Unfortunatley the company we ordered them from got it all wrong. So i spent the day modifying the borads... Which becuase of thier size means your eyes start going funny after a while...
So decide hell it's a summer job with flexable hours i'll take an early one today and leave at 4:30. Get outside go to the bike and then i notice it....
A big fucking screw (about 60mm) Long in my rear tyre.... the nice racetechs... And it's not in at a perpandicular angle but slowly goes in at an angle so you can see it running under the tyre..... Feck...... i must have picked it up on the driveway coming back from lunch...
Tyre isn't flat but i don't wanna put weight on it so the bike is now at work.
Now a bit of history... we are down a lond driveway that soley belongs to us. The company next to us is having thier gutters or roof or whatever redone. now they have put all the old shit along our driveway. It was meant to be there for only a couple days but after the first few weeks my boss said something. they got a truck in he sorta took some of it but there is a lot left and this was like a month ago... One of the other guys picked up a nail in his subaru which cost $280 to repair....
So yeh sucks to be me. I was gonna send the bill to the construction company what do you think are my chances??

probly not too good. However, if you could convince your boss to send them the bill you might be in with a chance. Sounds like a pretty crappy day! Had a nail experiance last saturday, my best mate picked up his new gs1200ss, gave me a thrash. I went for a blast to the pub on the back with him. Just as the speedo ticked over 200km of ownership the nail struck. Being saturday afternoon, the bike was out of action for two days. Must have killed the new bike buzz...

write letters, continously, you may get some joy.
Years ago i was driving along mt wellington highway and some fucktard roadworks people had resealed the highway, but leaving like a 3 inch step up on to the new seal without leaving any roadworks signs, my car at the time had 17inch wheels which were new and the shiz, it bent both of the rims, i wrote about 9 letters but eventually the ministry of works admitted blame and paid out for my two new rims and i scammed two new front shocks out of it as well..
it may not happen overnight, but rachel hunter has silicone boobies :P

NOoooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
My day wasn't as bad as yours. Although I did turn up drunk. And I had to crash out on the couch at morning and afternoon tea times. But I didn't throw up thankfully.

Is it a screw, or a long spiral roof nail?? I would hang on to it (when you get the tyre fixed) and if it's a roof nail, you may be able to go the dodgy builders next door.

Then proceed to screw the thing into one of his tyres. Maybe if it becomes a problem for him, then it might get sorted? Although you dont want to get done for it.

Take photos of the crap in the drive before you write and note the dates of your puncture and the other if poss. Then start writing...

So yeh sucks to be me.
Sucky indeed!
Try this on for size. My parents farm; the spring they started using in the massive drought of '82 or whenever, (which was running like a 1" pipe at the height of the drought) is running dry. They can't get enough water to supply the house and all the water troughs. So they have to take water from the river (and boil it to drink etc). But the pumps not grunty enough to suck it that far. So they get a deal on a refurbished one. Which dies and needs expensive bits. Dad goes down to his work to borrow a digger (to try and dig the spring out some more). Leaves his ute there. Goes back the next day- batteries dead flat LOL.
We went up there over new years. My dog ripped the pads on all four feet, my dad was trying to put him in a kennel so they could come and watch me race- stood on the dogs very sore feet by mistake so the dog bites him, once on each hand. Joy.
They were trying to mow a paddock for hay. Mower breaks big time. Can't afford new one. Have to patch it up somehow and try and scrape by.
It never rains but it pours eh!

will take photo's tomorrow... looks like a self tapping screw for the gutter/tin roof.
I think they were 0805's....... worked it out and to do 20 boards i'd have to replace 220 parts and put 60 additional parts.......
They need 60 by the end of the week... gonna be a long week
