Killed in a fall 250km's into the latest Paris-Dakar round.
Fatal neck injury.
He's written column's for AMCN and seemed to be a straight up guy as well as a fearsomely talented off road competitor, winning a stage of the Paris-Dakar only a couple of days ago.

Yeah, read about it this morning...still thinking about it.Dakar seems to get a bike rider nearly every year....and always a good one too. It's kinda like IOM,even Joey Dunlop got taken out, what can you do...Dakar is on the top of every dirt bike riders list - if I couldn't do Dakar,Baja would be a poor second,to even compete in PD is glory.
RIP Dude...

Not wanting to be picky but poor Joey (RIP) died in a road race in Estonia and not at the IOM. The IOM TT has accounted for too many other riders though, including David Jeffries in 2003.
Last year it was Meoni at the Dakar. Now, the loss of Andy Caldecott is more bad news and a sad loss of a talented rider.
