My only worry would be is that if you were going to fast you might actually catch up with the paint ball!!!!

Not if it was mounted to fire to the side. I can virtually garuntee ya it'd be illegal - it'd be covered in the 'real' laws. Something about concealed weapons and/or reckless something or other..... D50, SD, others... law stuff comments?

Be bloody good though!

I know exactly where to mount one on the Duc. Would have to break it down to basic components and split them up.( Barrel in the front fairing facing to the right, Nitrous under the seat, Hopper just under the blade behind the instruments....) but could be done. Not enough hidden space on my Virago though.

It's bound to be classed as a firearm, which makes it illegal to use as a road safety device.

I think the gun on it's own would be one thing, but anything you hit could charge you with destruction of property, or some kinda crap.

Not worth the hassle really...

Lol if you hide it well enough and have it shoot low enough then the cages you shoot it at wont know untill they pull over. Then what are they gonna do? "Uh yes officer I want you to find this biker guy that shot paintball gun at my car."
"Did you see him do it?"
"No, not really"
"Then how did you know it was him?"
"Because he seemed pretty upset when he past me"
"Why did he seem upset?"
"Because I nearly hit him cutting him changing lanes"
heh.

..but you could fill it with water. And they'd still be freaked out, trying to work out if you'd got them with paint damaging chemicals or something... and you would have done nothing illegal..? I think?

Ahhh, but to be even smarter Mr Wari sir, how about building one out of spare motorbike parts so that when bolted on, it looks like a performance or bling mod, no-one will know what happens when you push the horn button :devil2:

Really? ...

Really.

Hunting knives aren't illegal - but walk down the street with one in your pocket and get frisked by the cops and see what happens.

Of course if the projectile happened to be frozen at the time of launch...

Paintball guns are classified as airguns, which are classified as firearms. The filth take an extremely dim view of fireams offences in this country. Firing one in a public place at property or people will most likely see you arrested.

That said, down to business :D

Paintball guns are generally small, and quite lightweight. Remote mount kits for the oxygen are readily available, leaving you with a small handgun sized unit (assuming you fit a shorter barrel, also readily available). The magazines are quite large, but a large plastic testube (about 19mm inside diameter) will serve to hold 5-10 rounds. Concievably, you could mount it inside the fairing, with merely a hole visible. Paintballs travel at 300fps (generally, much more power applied and they tend to break in the barrel), so you won't catch it anytime soon. One does assume you're not planning to chase people at 200km/h and try to shoot at them. The flasher guns (read pricey) have electronic triggers, so it's a trivial matter to hook them up to the horn button. A 12v solenoid would suffice on a cheaper (sub $200) gun.

Do consider that concentrating on aiming your bike at the offending car when you should be concentrating on steering is possibly not the brightest idea. I would also consider mounting it on an offset position, so that you're not directly behind the cage you want to shoot, but rather in the adjacent lane 6 or so metres back.

Also, consider substitute ammo. Frozen paintballs, or perhaps jaffas would make considerable better damage to your target. If you want to put a large compression spring in the bottom of the mag (like a real gun), you could probably manage a good 30 shots worth.

I think that's about it ;)

I've just gotta speak up here, first, the law:

The moment a Paintball gun is displayed or used in a public place that is not a paintball field or private property, it is immediately classed as a firearm, and all the same legal penalties apply.

Second, a paintball averages 3.2g in mass, and will turn a unprotected eyeball into soup, if they hit any object that's on a angle, you can expect them to ricochet to goodness knows where.

If you want to scare someone, don't use a paintball gun, or you run a very real risk of running foul of the law or any public nearby.

As a certain Hailtonian found out the best way to scare someone is to boot their wing mirror off, he didnt ride to work for a while after that as he was scared of retribution

Meh, I say you get a boob job and if anyone asks you about the paintball gun, you just ask if they wanna feel. If its a chick, you can always use your gun...
