Hey Guys,

Got a problem with the ZXR400 at the moment, battery is completely dead.

Tried starting it up this afternoon and no go. The oil and neutral lights come on in the cluster, but very very dim, and there is certainly not enough power to get the electric start going.

Now the battery I understand is underneith the seat, but for the life of me I can't get into it. There's a phillips head screw in there but I don't have the right tool for the job, and didn't want to push it as the screw is already slightly threaded, didn't want to make it worse. Also it seems to be in there really tight, I couldn't get it out, so perhaps some kinda torque wrench with a phillips head screwdriver on the end will do it.

So, anyone that can get to East Auckland (Kohimarama) with a proper set of phillips head screw drivers and a set of jump leads would be a great help. Beer for anyone that can help!

PS. I assume you can't bump start a ZXR as it's an electric problem?

A good bump start is a good bump start.

Sometimes it does fry the odd headlight bulb.......but I bump-started Fireblade (singlehandedly....damn, it's heavy) a few times before so that I can just ride it to the garage.
