They were all so good with their individual characteristics. It’s almost like making love to beautiful women of different types. It was simply a beautiful experience each time.

Thanks for the smile you bought to my face on a gloomy Wgtn night, BestFun.

Not too sure if I could own a bike with such a name though... "Brutale" yes, but not "Baby Raptor" :)

Ah, so it's just a Cagiva Raptor. Crack me on the head & call me Egg. Slowly learning to recognise bike types & flava's & learnt another tonight.

Egg, over and out for the night. Getting sleepy.

Test rode an "03 Yamaha YZF600 yesterday and thought "what a beast!" Unfortunately I couldn't imagine riding it for 2+ hours (or even 1 hour) without serious aches and pains...felt like I was in a race ride position hunching over the tank and ready to rocket to the moon! I like fast sportsbikes but they must be comfortable for commuting and long rides.

Ah, so it's just a Cagiva Raptor. .
Hey DebK - they produced two models. The larger one was 1000 cc and generally called the Cagiva Raptor and its "little brother" the 650cc.
For some reason the smaller engine sized model earned the appellation "Baby Raptor".

Not indeed, "baby" as in bald-headed nipple gnasher !! (ooops, sorry Spank, no offence)
but baby as in smaller cc rating and absolutely as much fun.....

The story behind the development and design of the two models is very interesting and well worth reading. If I still had the links I'd provide them, but they're gone from my computer now. There are also magazine articles and such.
Perhaps SPMan would give you the contacts, if you asked him.

Better still, organise a ride on one :ride: Admire the unique style details. ...

You will love your Italian - but he will throw you off if you don't treat him right !

Understood BestFun. Once I get my full licence I'll be trying a few models out.

How's this for the smallest of the baby Cagiva's => http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Road-bikes/European/0001-0026-1255-1284-/auction-9825611.htm

Sounds & looks like a fun wee alternative to my scoot.

That wee fella would require some serious commitment to get the best out of it. I reckon a 400cc four or a 600-750cc twin would be a better idea - after all we know you ain't scared of speed :)

But seriously I've ridden a Mito and they are fun but you have to have them on the power band all the time or it just slows down and topples on its side - hence the 7 speed gearbox.

I can't see the point in paying euro money for a Raptor when it is just the Suzzie engine
