No but just prooves it was a 'revenue' excercise rather than a 'road safety one' eh?
How often do cops wait outside pubs to grab drink/drivers???

Not often... I've heard they usually have to confiscate a lot of doughnuts off people leaving dunkin donuts whilst recklessly eating at the wheel ;)

I'm pleased we went to Port Waikato for a change.
There were no cops there, even when I got slightly illegal.
But I did have the accountant watching over me.

I rode from Whangarei through to Opononi, obviously through Waipoua Forest:not: ,meet a few guys that had come up through SH16 from Jafaland and they didn't meet any fun-killers on the way up.
Would of been about 1pm when I saw them so maybe a different time during the day...if at all.

they do wait out side pubs down here...it pays to stand out side and hav a smoke for awhile watching till they pull someone then leave...we often if we're in a group send a decoy past them [sober driver] and then leave...not that we are pissed as chooks or anything...just alittle over the limit maybe... :wait:

I would be very astonished indeed if the Constabulary did not know perfectly well what roads are regularly frequented by groups of motorcycles. They don't need to lurk on here to figure that out!
And, contrary to some opinion, I'm pretty sure that said Constabulary don't have any specific wish to target motorcyclists (a few individual cops may be another rmatter). And so long as said groups of motorcyclists keep out of trouble, don't frighten Stan and Mabel by blitzing them at high speeds and DON'T CRASH all over the shop (thus attracting the attention of the Press, and people who say "summat should be done"), the Constabulary are unlikely to go particularly out of their way to go hunt motorcyclists.

They were all set to go untill there was a very serious accident at Te Hana.
Head on collision, by a people mover overtaking a truck, clipped it, spun head on into oncoming vehicle. 10 patients in all, 2x helicopters attend, 4x ambulance, 1 ambo manager, 3x fire/recue tenders, and a hell of a lot of police, (traffic/ normal and SCU).
Sadly 2 died.

That's interesting, the media is inferring it was the Merc driver at fault.

1,000,000 to 1...........but I bet ya that speed goes on report so it goes in the 'speed' statistics
'Remember that speed is a factor in 33% of accidents and 67% are caused by slow drivers'
'30% of accidents involve alcohol and 70% involve sober drivers'

Who gives a shit? You post information for all to read about illegal antics, naming the time date and place where it will take place and then act surprised when the plod turn up and spoil the party?
I'll tell you what my reaction would be, it simply would confirm the stupidity and lack of common sense amongst the general population of road users.
