Chaining bike to the ground - Question

I've been locking my bike up at home with a standard chain and lock but want to chain it to the concrete.

Before I go out and buy the most serious looking plate etc, I'd like to hear from riders who have experience with these. What's a good set up to buy and where from?

I've seen a couple of heavy gauge custom jobs bolted to the living room floor (concrete). More simple versions are often sold by bike shops, Oxford do one. Depends exactly what you want I guess..

How do you generally fix the things to the floor? Hammer drill and some giant concrete bolts??? :)

Have seen these in bike shops (Mt Eden for one)

They bolt to the floor of the gargre with ramset bolts, if you buy one and want help installing giz me a PM :drinknsin

Yep, Hammer drill and Dyna bolts.

You could always get a steel plate and weld one end of the chain to it to make your anchor if you cant find one to buy.

Dynabolts on ground anchors with hardened cable/chain. Remember if they really want it they will take it. You can make it hard of course and it sure helps with theft excess.

Abus,Kryptonite do those folding ring things,and they are usualy a couple of hundred bucks - the Oxford one is like a peice of box section and much cheaper,but don't fold flat onto the floor....so you mount them by the wall out of the way,makes it harder for the badies to get at.I've got an Oxford anchor.

You may be right. A week ago some c*nts broke into my garage and took my Thumpster, outboard and all my f*cking tools. My bike was there for the taking but they left it.
