I had a funny feeling that was going to happen. Guess it was bound to happen with you hanging round all those Ducati riders again!
I see you've got yourself an F3 bike as well - look forward to seeing you out there on it.
You know something chick? I was just sitting on the loo, and my mind started wandering (as it does), and I figured out you're a bike slapper!!! In the last 10 months that I've known you, you've owned 7 different bikes!!! How bout you spread the love and send the GSXR to me to look after for a bit?

Do you think all those Demo rides were complying to running the bike in correctly? Whoever takes that bike at $1500 less for would obviously be a fool paying that much money for a bike that wouldn't have set in correct.
There are obviously alot of people on here dreaming, If you want a K5/K6. You are gonna have to pay good money for one!
Also, Suzuki New Zealand already Guarantees there are no Warranty transfer issues. P9 of the "Motorcycle Owners Maintenance Record & Warranty Policy Manual" states the following:
If this Suzuki Motorcycle is re-sold within its warranty period then the warranty can be transferred to the subsequent owner by filling out this form and mailing it to - Suzuki New Zealand Ltd, Technical Department. Private Bag 3008, Wanganui
Note: All NZ GSXR K5/K6's come with a 2 year unlimited km warranty.

Oh, I guess it's just something every motorcycle manufacturer in the world has made up then!
Lucky for guys like me, We have you to unveil the truth!
Didn't you know that you can ring the shit out a bike from new, it will pass off as fine on a dyno. The problem is, the bikes life is greatly reduced!
Why am I having to point out the plain obvious???

Talk to Shaun Harris - Handle "Shaun"
He can explain to you that anybody can mod up an engine.
After looking at the site: I could not find any mention of the bikes life span remaining normal. This is a neglected issue.
There is mention of ring seals etc. I had my bike revving up by 300k as opposed to the manuals stated 1500k, the revving wasn't increased until after 200k where the engine surfaces were given time to mould, Excessive revving would damage this moulding process.
Also, With good advice from VTwin "Bruce" - When I got my bike home, It had an immediate oil change. A supposed secret! However it seems we are all doing that?
Running in a bike is not all bullshit! You need to determine how you want the bike to meet your requirements and run it in accordingly.
However, Thrashing it from the word go will cause bad moulding of the metallic surfaces. It will set the ring seals well however.
You need to find a balance of setting the surfaces and seals.
Otherwise, you can bet the engine will give you problems - after your warranty has expired!
If you are like me, you'll run it in hard for good performance and you'll swing it before the warranty expires.

I'd buy a ex demo no problem, if it fucks out Suzuki will cover it under warranty. Normally i wouldn't say a GSXR1000 would fuck out, but i have a K3 minus an engine, doh.

THATS MASS PRODUCTION FOR YA , SOME ARENT GONNA BE RIGHT , BUT NO AMOUNT OF RUNNING IN WILL FIX A BIKE NOT PUT TOGETHER PROPERLY OR THAT HAS INCORRECT TOLERANCES.
BRUCE DID YOU SAY YOU DID SOME OF YOUR OWN SERVICING DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD ?

You're not the only one, I know Shaun was short of a K5 engine at Christmas. Also due to a worldwide shortage, he was having problems getting a replacement. It sounds as if the engine he had was beyond repair.
Sorry Flame, Didn't mean to steal your thread!

Wow I actually read the whole page on that site. Excellent reading, Not had much experience myself in breaking new motors in but what this guy says does seem logical. Anyway, like legalisation of marijuana, does god exist, inline vs vtwin, this is a debate that will never end. Ever. Even when the last two people are left on this earth, it will still be a debatable topic.

Helps when ya put oil in them Dafe . Got started warmed up & did to laps before rider noticed the slipper clutch was not working , many because the motor was locking up from no Oil in it . Looked at parts at Shauns shop when I was there , Pretty fried to say the least . Very Sad & $$$$$$$$$$$$$
