Hey everyone,

Am just wondering if there is anyone who might be interested in going for a bit of a tiky through to Port Waikato some time after work.

Looks like Wednesday the 25th at this stage, meet at Bombay Macdonalds carpark at 6pm and we shall depart at around 6:30pm. Stop for a burger at around 7:15 in Port Waikato.

All bikes welcome and riders of all levels.

Cheers

Yeah I gathered that from reading a few threads of rides around the area. Would be keen to go for a bit of a hoon with him and the boys (if I can keep up?)

Hmmmm, I live about 2 mins away from the bridge before the turn off so I might just meet everyone at the bridge. 29k's in to Port Waikato and 29k's out then back home for me after a burger and chips of course. I went for a ride out there last night to check out the road conditions and it all seems to be pretty good.

stifarms and I have just moved but did live on whangarata rd!
The ride out to the port is a nice easy one, but make sure you finish it by doing the onewhero loop, the ride up is nice!
Basically you turn right by the Te Kohunga rugby fields, follow the road right up and turn left.
It spits you out back down by the bridge.

There is a short bridge you cross over just before you turn in to head to the Port.

For those who aren't familiar with the area I think it might be a good idea to meet at the Bombay MacDonalds carpark area. Day and time is still to be confirmed but I will let everyone know hopefully today.

Hey everyone,

Weather is looking crap alright!. If its even remotely wet I'm gonna pull out cause I don't have any wet weather gear and am sick of riding in the rain. That road into the port tends to stay damp for a while to once it get wets so it will be a bit of a boring ride if we do go.

I think it might be a good idea to change the day to some time next week.

What is everyones thoughts?

beyond
24th January 2006, 08:01
Yesh mate. Pisses me off as I was looking forward to it. But yeah, the road does stay damp that way for some time and it's a good run when it's dry for after work.

You would have thought the weather would have been spot on for this time of the year, but there you go. Next week sometime would be great if the weathers ok again :) Remember after this week we have two short weeks.
