thanks, i will later ;)
im used to twostroke 200-250 dirtbikes, so im used to really good acceleration, would i be really dissapointed with the acceleration of a v twin 250?

They a damn good ride. They have great accelaration btw. Top speed I tried was about (ahem) 160 or so. Its not a race bike after all. Talk to Zapf also..he went the same way.
Suggest maybe you get one second though because once you been on a twin you are going to wanna move up.
I had the VTR250 before going to the SV650.

good points madduck.
you'll get bored of the v-twin 250's, I know I have; excellent bikes to learn on tho..
yeah as above take the vtr for a spin, you never know you might just like it.

Try having a chat with Keystone too. We all went the VTR250 to SV650 way.
I dont think it was boredom LXS it was just about stepping up. To be honest I wish I stayed with the VTR250 just a wee bit longer. They can be thrown around corners a lot better than a bigger bike.

So that's four of us here who went VTR250 to SV650.
How good is the VTR250? Problem for me is that I have nothing to compare it to.. don't know how yr dirt bikes accelerate. All I know is that for one who hasn't ridden anything before.. they are great for learning on. Way better than a GN250, which I haven't ridden, but have ridden with on several occassions. Compared to inline fours... easier riding position for newbies, more torque so more forgiving if in wrong gear, and they handle pretty well, and sound nice too. Accelerate pretty well to 120 clicks, then dies. Only got to 145 on the flat, mate has one too, and was the same. His is 4 sale too, may be around a 98, PM me if interested. If you have riding experience, only way to know is to try one... theres a red one at Colemans.
Good luck!

consider VTR250's as a naked sports 250cc bike.... gets up to 120ish ok... and then it'll get up to 140ish for me.
They handle well... light.... being a twin has good low and mid range... forget about the top end.
won't the Red one at colemans be Keystone's?

I guess a VTR is not quite the same as a Spada, but this is what I have to say
