Following from my earlier thread on the "infatuation with bikes", I am wondering what you do with your "cage", that's if you have one...I've been advised to sell it once I upgraded to a bigger bike. To be honest I've used the car probably twice since I had the better option.....and now have taken it off the road (Exemption)....
Just like to know if your cage is sitting in the garage collecting dust....or get rid of it despite the predicatable winter storms ahead...
??

Unfortunately I can't carry all my fishing rods, gaff, chilly bins, tents etc on the bike so my cage gets used a lot.

Sell it and get yourself a Ute. I just did it.
Utes are handy for putting MotoX'ers on the back or even taking your race bike to the track :)
Plus they make you look like a real man ;)

That's a great idea. You can have a bit of fun with the special way they handle too.
Cars do have their place - they do take corners at pretty respectable places if you're up to it.
They are also pretty handy when you are really sick and want to go to the doctor - shopping, or you want to travel long distances and carry luggage........
The best bet is a sports car and sports bike - best of both worlds.

When I got my bike mrs phoenix claimed the car as her own. No real loss. I still drive it when I need, but that aint often.

I thought about selling my car but it has it's uses. It would cost a lot to replace it and I am guessing in winter I might want it on some days. Meow!

The way DSS handled his ute the weekend after his off at puke was fairly impressive

Mine sat unused, so it went.
We didn't need two cars anyway. It's not like we live on Remueras northern slops or some such.

We got a 4X4 for the missus and a Ute for me. Plus my Gixxer.
Living out in the wops its good to have a spare vehicle.
I used to have a hotted up Accord SiR and a Celica, but both were shit compared to the bike. :)
A ute and a 4x4 mean I can pretty much carry anything ;)
Keeps me poor having 3 sets of Insurance, rego and wof's to worry about.

think thoroughly first...........
You cannot have sex in the backseat of a bike without the risk of your missus seeing it.
Keep the car.

I want a project car (would make two cars at our house) and the pillion wants a bike.
will we actually own 4 vehicles? Not unless at least two are s%$#@*&s!
If I lived alone it would not be long before I had a car as well.
If I have to spend the rest of my life with only one the choice is easy.
Depends on how important convenience is to you though because most bikers could afford a taxi or even a rental for less than the cost of retaining a good car you rarely drive.
There is no real answer that anyone else could give you.
I recommend noobs don't sell the cage to buy the bike, but a year down the track when you realise you have used your $8000 2 years ago car twice in 12 months you are the only person who can decide that.
When I say I want a car as well I'm thinking $500 gets a warrant and reg, gets used 1-2 times a month, get something to buy tools for R R R R.

I cant take a sick new-born to the hospital, or carry $200 worth of groceries on the back of the bike, so the cage stays.
Also, if you own a house - you need a cage - anyone who's got one knows why!
To tell the truth I like my cage as well, even though its a Honda!

Hmmm yes,I have been wondering about your handle a bit lately.:niceone:
But then I'm the same,it's a bit hard to get a 16 foot and a 12 foot surf caster plus a 10 foot LBG rod, plus all the other stuff on board a bike.
Traveling cross country on a bike with a rifle over the shoulder can be done but it's not really the best look either. Also getting two Dachshunds to sit still on the gas tank just ain't NEVER going to happen.
Damn,I really need another 4x4.

After buying my third bike last year I handed the keys of the Hilux over to the misses. It hardly gets used now, on account of here allready having a cage.
