Well, the big day arrives tomorrow. 6 of us (5 bikes) are heading to the South Island for a week or so. Auckland, Wanganui, Kaikoura, Christchurch, Wanaka, Franz Josef, Greymouth, Nelson, Wanganui, Auckland.

Don't forget to wave if ya see us...:spudwave: We'll be on all the twisty roads we can find...:woohoo:

Should be hitting Wanganui anywhere between 2 and 4pm I would guess - we'll be coming through the Paraparas...:banana:

Ferry crossing is at 10.35am Sunday and returning Sunday 29th departing Picton at 1.35.

And Cowpoos, I'll show ya my ***** if you show me yours...

Hey all. I personally got home today from the trip. The other 5 are on their way as we speak. Wonderful trip with perfect weather every single day (hot weather the exception). Ride report soon as ks19 gets her ass into gear and finishes admiring her chicken strips.

Was awesome to catch up with the CHCH crew: Dangerous, ZZR, TonyB, OAB, SGirl. Forgive me if I forgot others.

Yeah was good, sorry bout the cock up in the pub..... been a while since I went to town, never been told to shut up in a pub before, thought that drink and chat is what ya did in them, aparantly not... what has happened to the good old kiwi pub:mellow:
Glad ya had a sweet ride weather was grouse for ya's aye, so what ya like most on your travels?

The melting tar in Lindis pass was interesting...but not as bad as we thought. The Crown Range was excellent. The road from...ummm...Wanaka to Picton via the West Coast rarely had a boring stretch (notably the ones leading in to Hokitika and Greymouth). Wanaka-Haast was probably my fave, Fox-Franz a close second.

I would like to thank Mother Nature and La Nina for providing a tail-wind all the way up the West-Coast. It was hard work keeping in touch with those big bikes as it was :).

I should mention (belatedly) that we were sad not to catch up with a couple of other CHCHKBers. I hope you had safe journeys and a good week/end regardless. Next time guys.

They are heading from Wanga-vegas in the morn (Monday). You got KS19, MotoBOB, or Zapf's cellphone number? Not sure of thier route, but I think theyll be looking for the twisty stuff if they can.
