Got the following from http://www.250ccbikes.com/thelist.html

Honda CT110 Posty
Honda CT series A postman would be seen on nothing else than this family.
Type: Scooter Cheap low-performance transport.
Capacity: 110cc They _are_ actually the most popular (in terms of numbers produced) of any model of motorcycle, but traffic conditions in Australia don't really suit them. Perhaps, as local transport in a quieter "country" town, they may be considered a good thing...beats walking! ;-). ..but in fast traffic, they are well out of place. This family of bikes do provide interesting transport options in certain circumstances.

There is a group of guys who did a tour across Australia on CT110's

Brilliant off road though. Once saw a hunter riding out of the ranges with a deer carcase tied to the back. They go almost anywhere, and are light enough to drag out of a ditch. They were made up until a couple of years ago, and may still be making them. Those trusty Honda 4 stroke singles go forever.

What?

Not only were CT's still made in '04, they still make them now. Current list price is ~$4300.
Often called "Postie Bikes", they were built as farm bikes, but Australia Post (somehow...) figured they would make great mail delivery vehicles, hence the nickname.
Best bike I ever rode around the south Wairarapa coast was a CT90. As Dadpole says - they go damned-near anywhere.

plenty of people mainly rural types learnt to ride on those antiquated old steeds, unchanged for many a year, robust, reliable, boring but they just keep on going.
there was a international rally in oz recently for the wee buggers, i think Zadok actually posted about it, there was also an article in one of the kiwi mags an issue or two back.

Wash your mouth, they are 4 stroke. Also may still have the dual range gearbox in them too.
I lernt to ride on an XL125, then dad bought mum a CT90 for her birthday. It was great. But it in low ratio and it would climd banks that were unbielievably steep! Had many hours of fun making new tracks up the side of a shingle pit next to the farm.

Found it really easy to get away from my mate on his PE 175. :scooter:

Bare in mind these make a very good farm bike. It is designed for a purpose, and designed very well. There aren't many bikes that you can ride while carrying a sheep on your lap. I have seen it done in complete safety. The price is realistic in my opinion.

Glad you enjoyed it! :killingme

Yep. The first of the 110's had a single range box, but Honda got the message loud and clear, and the dual-range box was back.

Why? It is a machine that fills its design role perfectly, it appears to be in good nick, and the $2800 buy now price is realistic.
