View Full Version : F(%KIN WOMEN DRIVERS (with roundabouts)

this is not to all women, just the ones that drive cars....
as i was riding through town i was traveling behind a Peugeot 207 (obviously a womans car) so i took it extra carefully. now when we came to a round about, everything was going as planed, she was turning the roundabout then.....she stops right in the middle to let someone pass, as i was looking mainly at the traffic next to me (so no one pulled in front) i looked looked to the front to see the parked 207. i heaved on the brakes, even locking my back wheel (i mainly ride on dirt so I'm back brake heavy). luckily i do dirt riding so the skid was easily controlled (and looked damn cool too, tons saw me and they were either clapping or looked like they saw a ghost).
now I'm not much for honking (mainly cause i forget) so i just opened my visor and gave her the "evils"
later on i went out onto the open road with a friend, after about an hour of riding we were coming back, on this road was another round about near baypark, everything was fine, i slowed down (not too much) and proceeded with the corner....then another woman driver pulls out in front of me wanting to turn right (i was going straight), luckily i had been watching her so i started to slow down beforehand. now the stupid thing was when she finally saw me she froze right in my way, once again i heaved on the brakes, locked the back (i know i shouldn't but i don't even notice when it does). got away safely again.
so what is it with women drivers?, and they think we're arrigant....:brick: :brick:

seems a little unfair to tar every woman driver (1.5 million+ by my dodgy maths) with the same brush. However I have noticed that a lot of folk have trouble with roundabouts, and I reckon the new LTSA laws only served to confuse the masses even more. I have recently been offered right of way by a car ON the roundabout and me at an entrance :weird:, unbelieable.
What I find strange is your average driver will do a U-turn without hesitation (albeit with no indication or regard for his fellow man), but can't handle a roundabout. In fact I watched a MPV do a U-turn on Queen street recently and then decided they had been pointing in the right direction after all and turned it into a complete 360 degree turn. In the middle of Queen street, absolute moron.

I have perfected the art of spitting on a cage.
1. Make sure visor is up.
2. Pull down helmet.
3. Make eye contact.
4. Fire your missile.
ewww god I can gross myself out at times!
Truth be told I have only done this once...It will never be repeated. ( I guess I should never say never!)

i looked looked to the front to see the parked 207
If you're moving without looking you're taking a big risk. Yeah they should not be stopping on a round about but people drive 207's. I saw a car nose to bumper another the other day because the car infront stopped so it didn't cause an accident, the car behind is always at fault.
The second incident is a pain in the ass, you can see it happening a mile away and yet you can't really do anything more than what you did, prepare yourself. Moving to the far right is usually a good idea, makes them know you think they could hit you and if they do stop you can squeak past.
Never trust the guy/girl infront of you to give you time to brake, give yourself time.

When I was more inexperienced and didn't think that everyone would pull out in front of me, I had a couple of offs both were caused by Asian women (one indian one chinese)... neither stopped. One was on a roundabout cutting me off (panmure danger zone), the other did the classic turn in front and then stop blocking the whole road once she saw me. I'm glad I learnt those lessons at slow speeds.

Women drivers, Asians too for that matter, are no problem. You just treat 'em like a mobile chicane.

Well, if you are to believe the media, Women drivers are indeed a risk, just look at the advert they run, you know, the one with the cars sitting, waiting to turn with indicators ticking(The intersection timebomb ad) and it's always a women that turns into oncoming traffic and get's T-boned!

Its not just a pile of woman drivers who suck at roundabouts but truck drivers as well!
You see I was behind this 4WD going round a doublelaned roundabout when this truck pulled out in front of us. And being soo long of cause we had to sit in the middle of the roundabout while it took its merry time.
Now I know that trucks do have some right to do that shit, but it wasnt even busy, he couldve waited.

I almost got taken out by a cage travelling at an inappropriate speed through the stokes valley roundabout this morning. And guess what? The driver was male, and white! Probably too early to be stoned, but you never know. It is the valley after all!
