xr200 was always a fun bike. Keep the throttle wide open and point and go. Bloody near impossible to fall off the damn things....

They can get pretty decent air for a heavy bike too....

I had the XR200RD that I bought in 1983 new. It was probably the best bike I ever had for doing what it was designed to do and it did it well. It got me a few enduro medals and it lasted well. So good choice - enjoy!! Here was mine http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=23990&d=1137291510

What's this heavy bike cowboyz? You mean compared to an MX bike or what because the XR was lighter than my current WR is both in road legal nick.

Yeah, choice bike, ride them at 110%,come into corners not knowing whether you'll come out of it or not,but always do! Best hill climbing bike I've ever ridden, just nail it and work like mad...alway made it up.I thought they were pretty light too, that's why I liked it - I remember being on the side of steep hills after I'd fallen over the high side...I'd be standing with my arms locked above my head holding the XR,and then walk up the hill to flop it on it's side...a stupid bike for stupid people....

yeah, might pay to have your bike looked at or at least adjust the cam chain. Don't want to be puttig valves through pistons.

And don't smack away on that kickstarter like it was a 2 stroke, kickstart gears were always a weak point on XR200s,and you have to split the cases to replace the gears.Bring it up to compression slowly and gently take it over, then take the lever to the top, bring it down and engage the gears, then lay into it.Just blindly slamming away will wreck it for sure.
