A biker who was paralysed in a road crash is seeking an award of damages so he and his wife can “try to complete the family they had always wanted”.

Mark Easdon, who was left wheelchair-bound for life after a collision with a lorry, has submitted a claim for up to £8 million in compensation. Part of the claim is to pay for fertility treatment which Mr Easdon and his wife, hope will allow them to have another two children. They already have a daughter.

Lawyers for the lorry driver insist that Mr Easdon was to blame for the crash and that he is not entitled to any damages. Judge Lord Kingarth ruled that the case was too complicated for a jury.

A cycle of treatment could cost up to £20,000.

Are there any details of the crash?

8 million pounds covers a hell of a lot more than a lifetimes pay.
