No more private sessions, next week Rossi is at Valencia testing with Schumacher and Massa,McLaren,Williams,Toyota,Honda and BMW will also be there testing. No sneaking private test drives now,he joins the big boys for a real day at the track.A lot of effort being put into a guy who has no chance and no interest in F1.http://www.crash.net/news_View.asp?t=Ferrari-confirm-Valencia-test-for-Rossi-&cid=1&id=124445

As Rossi has said though, who would turn down the chance when asked by the boss of Ferrari.........
Will be interesting to see if he can lap close to Schuey, but as with all test days its impossible to tell who is fastest as everyone is testing different things: tires, engines, suspension etc.

There was a recent interview with Schumacher in which he spoke of Rossi's efforts. Michael doesn't generally come across as the nicest man but he spoke quite highly of Rossi's effort, words to the effect that Rossi has been making good progress but you never know from testing about that last little bit. That last bit is sheer talent. He then said that Rossi certainly has talent.

Be interesting to see how he goes. Surtees won world Championships on bikes and in F1 but he was a clever engineering type. Rossi is supposed to be one of the best at diagnosing problems wth bike set up so maybe he is better equiped than most to make the switch.

If he does make it in F1 it can't be bad for bikes...

Schumacher has done a 180 deg turn on his views about Rossi,he doesn't seem to mind if he comes to Ferrari, while Massa has taken up the defensive stand. Some see this to validate the rumour Schumacher may be going to join his brother at Toyota.Kimi is tipped for Ferrari is MS goes....Massa is the nobody who loses.

Testing means nothing at all. It would be a huge change for Rossi and his biking masterty won't guarantee him success in F1 at all. Its a completely different ball game.

I wish him well though. It'd be great to knock Shooey of his high horse... Oh hang on, that happened last season.

Testing means nothing - but nobody tests the Ferrari's except the race drivers and official test drivers...to be offered a drive in the test sessions is not just a mate of Rossi's saying ''Hey,want a fang around the track next week?'' He's being given a lot of opportunaties to prove himself, and he's not even a car driver....there is a plot I'm sure, the guys who run these teams are not ''nice'',no body get's something for nothing from these guys.

If Rossi tries some of the moves in cars as he does on bikes he'll kill himself or others. If not then he'll go down as one of the greats. That's having a bet both ways. It's what you do when you don't know what your're talking about but trying to impress others that you do.:violin:
