was thinking of trading at the end of 06.thinking 05zx10r or an 05/06 zx636r.have ridden an 05 zx10 on the track and was impressed.what are these bikes[both] like on the road and to live with????most of my rideing ia one up day rides with 3 or 4 track days a year.like to know views of those that have ridden them thanx.

If you are bored with 600cc power then go for a 1000cc.
I know two riders who bought a zx10 and both sold them in less than a month. These are experienced and fast riders, not poseurs. Seems they found the zx10 just too dangerous to enjoy. As they say power is nothing without control. Ridden a couple myself and can see the appeal of the power but how often can you use it. Great if you want to fight for control of the front wheel every time you exit a corner.
I reckon I would be slower over the local hills if I owned zx10 than my zx6r.

MD is on the nail, I cant imagine a ZX10r getting away on me on the road, on the track yeah sure on the back straight of puke but thats about it, the 636 aint no slouch 136 hp an a hell of a performer and alot more useable.
I ride mine everyday and love it, two up though it sucks not comfy at all for both, but hey its a race bike what ya expect right.

i have an 04 zx10r , yepthe power is great , but i dont find it a handfull what so ever, i have ridden both my bike and a yammy r6 around my local back roads and i can say i prefer the thousand power anyday!

magnum, putting it simply both the ZX10 and 636 will be easier to live with then your 99 ZX6. Make the upgrade you wont look back.
