There are heaps of 250's out there, your obviously looking in the wrong places.. took me 3 days to find a new bike.

I just got me a 2005 Kinetic/Hyosung GF170. Gonna keep it till I get my restricted, then I'll probably buy a brand new Hyosung GT250R (love at first sight). anyway, the GF170 goes ok, more torque than the FXR, but just a little less hp. Picked it up for $1800, There was a blue one going for $1900 +/- around Auckland (check Trademe). Probably not exactly what you are looking for (top speed 115km/h), but it's a bike and it goes, and it's cheap
