Definately Trademe. Our TL sat for ages when we had it in the Motorcycle Trader then the Motorcycle Marketplace. It went pretty quickly when we had it on trademe though

I sold a scooter on TradeMe and got quite a lot more for it than I would have gotten for a Trade-in.

Just wondering what you guys think? Is it worth trying Trademe?Of course it's worth trying! Also worth trying the T&E, your local rag/s, and of course right here!!
You could always park it out on the roadside and array it in 4sale signs...just as well you don't live in Ak though as you can now be fined for roadside selling in many areas! :spudwhat:

Trying in any forum you can is worthwhile. As long as you bear in mind that you won't seel a number plate for $500 grand unless there's someone out there who thinks that's a realistic price (Chris in Stokes Valley). As long as you're not asking an unrealistic price then there shouldn't be a problem. you just have to put up with stupid questions from the TM [punters then go for it.

Trademe definitely. Sold my CBR250 in less than 24 hours from placing the ad.

Yep. Definitely OK on Trade Me. Sold both my bikes on it they were only on it a week or two.

Trademe is the way to go I think. I've sold a scooter and bike via trademe (both in the parts section as they were cheap enough that the fees were only $10 there, the actual bikes section is way higher profile thou). In both cases I listed at a price I was happy with and either got it or got more.
The added bonus is you don't have to feild 300 calls in a day, or calls four weeks after you advertise it :D (or at all if you choose)

Beemer

When I was looking to sell the Beemer around April last year I advertised it in the BMWOR newsletter, on BikePoint, Trade Me, and in the Dominion Post and Bike Mart. Very little response, only from smart arses saying I was asking too much.
I decided to advertise it again earlier this month and had only gone as far as putting it on Trade Me. I had one email from another smart arse telling me it was more than he wanted to pay (well, buy someone else's!) and listing a pile of others the same that were way cheaper - except most of them were GS models, not CS! I decided to extend it for another 14 days and on the last day of the first advertising period, I was contacted by a guy wanting to look at it. He took it for a test ride that day, and two days later called me to say he'd take it. I got a good price for it and the $20 fee was reasonable. Far more reasonable than the dealer I approached who offered to sell it on behalf for $1500 to $2000, more if they had to take a trade-in on it! I could imagine every weekend it being "taken for a test ride" over the Rimutakas - no thanks!

Just sold my BMW od Trademe, had 2 guys in CHCH bidding against each other and was happy with the price I got.
Good luck with the sale. I was wondering why you were selling it so soon but see you're going o'seas.

You talking to me? If so, no plans to at this stage, it's my only bike now! I need to do something about the seat, but unless something half-way between the Beemer and and Goose comes along, it will be staying!

Good choice, tradme is definately the way to go.
A lot of people get alot more than they wanted for their bike.
I know of one case where someone wanted 1550 for their zzr and ended up getting 2750 :gob:

Yeah I wish I didnt have to sell it, but I am sure it would cost me heaps to get it to Europe and then get it legal:(
