Well we fly to NZ 3 weeks today, just a quick question are there any social workers here on KBers who would be willing to meet up with us and let my wife know how the system works in NZ. We are considering moving out and would like to find out what the job prospects are like.
Thanks again to everyone who replied to my previous posts I will be in touch soon regarding meeting up for a pint or three :drinknsin
Regards
Davey

Hi Davey

If no-one else responds, we can organise a meet with a social worker. Also, our daughter in Christchurch could organise something as she's a trainee psych with the Justice Dept. Looking forward to catching up.

Oh well, off to work :finger:

I'm not one, but I work with 40 odd Social Workers, and should be able to arrange a meeting with someone who knows that of which they speak where ever in the country you happen to be.

When I read that it occurred to me that the post may create a wrong impression. I didn't mean that the Social Workers were odd.

Umm on second thoughts.... :-)

Davey

Our daughter works in a secure unit for adolescents up to 17 years old at Rolleston just outside Christchurch. This may be at the extreme end of the spectrum, but might provide another perspective. When you're around Chch, can arrange a meet with her if helpful. She drinks Speights Old Dark ale, haha:eek:
