Just bought a K2 gixxer thou and absolutley love it! Can't post more currently (someone needs this computer) but go for it. Can't wait to see how this thing goes against an R1, my 750 wasn't too far behind a '00 model in accel at Ruapuna, and the thou just blows the 750 away!

Road my Mate 04 CBR1000RR on Sunday while he took my K3 GSXR & nothing had changed from the first time I road the Blade " Boring bike " . Excellent front end after I had set it up for him , Back shock was crap not enough rebound valving , & the most dissapointing thing was the Motor ! Wouldn't Peel the skin of a Rice Pudding no power under 5000rpm & very flat power delivery didn't even bother Tapping it out wasn't any point .The biggest thing that Pissed me off was seeing my GSXR piss off into the distance while I waited for this Blade to come on song which it did after 3 down changes & I didn't even own it & I was Gutted with it . Hope they wake their Ideas up or they will stay the at the bottom of the pack for yet another year .

Nah, I was just having a go.

Go with whatever does it for you. I'd have prefered a european bike but they rip you here in NZ and don't hold many parts.

The gsxr's a good choice.

The December 05 UK superbike magazine compares the K2 thou with a K4, an 02 R1, and the 05 CBR.
Quoted from the article:
The real surprise of the test was the K2 GSX-R1000. It forces you to completely rethink the second hand bike market since its awesome engineand more than capable chassis are almost a match for bikes costing twice the price.

...nothing had changed from the first time I road the Blade " Boring bike "Doesn't mean all Blades are boring, in fact there is a substantial following of Fireblades throughout the world, one such forum I belong to has close to 8000 members who rave on about how they are such a good ride! We all have our differing opinions.

Mr Oil Boiler, you did title your thread about Suzookis, so I will tell you that I have only heard good things about the K1-K2, in fact i looked close at the early K-series gixxers before I bought my 954 Blade. Hondas are more comfortable though imo...:yeah:

Yeah and I rode a "mates" K3 GSXR on Saturday. The ride started off like most Suzuki rides, you know, a roll of duct tape to hold the shitter together and a prayer to the makers that it wouldn't disintegrate under me. It finally got started and off we went. You're right, the thing pulls like a school boy and it almost had my blade beat but we had to stop to fill it up with oil. Just as well as there was a corner coming up so we pushed it around just to be on the safe side. While topping her up and duct taping the exhaust back on, this 4 year old wanders up and says "fuck, that's one ugly mother of a bike mister." It just gutted me. My mates only saving grace is that once a year the Council have an inorganic collection so it won't cost him anything to dispose of it.

Yada, yada, yada.

Make sure they get the bottom end off throttle well sorted up to & past 5000rpm . Back end when I road Dave's lacked enough Rebound damping , Eg run out of adjustment before I could get it to where I wanted it to be . Front felt Mint as excellent feed back even when pushed & good plush ride when in town . Gearing I dropped mine one tooth which transfomed the all ready excellent bottom end that GSXR's have into a Beast out of corner's 3rd gear power stands on throttle , that all aside tho speedo out 10k's now so would need a Speedo Healer if ya wanted to get thing's but to normal . Could get you Settings off Mates front end that I did for him if keen ? Hope all goes will ya Dyno run . Friend got his done at Garry Pendiltons ? sounds pretty deady man!
what was wrong with the old motor?

Fucked the crank, rods, number 2 piston, cam chain etc

Whats weird though is Suzuki said it was run low on oil that caused the damage and weren't going to warrenty it. Will know more next week, pretty dissapointed with Suzuki though, could've been a faulty oil pump or ......??? Not even a partial warrnety.

But: oil light never came on! And normally a motor staved of oil the top end will go first but that was sweet, go figure, am waiting to get the "10" page report to come back.
But came accros a K4 motor with 8000km on it, $3600, could've landed a K4 with 1500km, headers, airbox, oil cooler, loom and cdi for that price from the states, but i want it now, and if there was any hassle with the one from the states it could turn into a real nightmare, but over here, a few of the boys and we'd sort em.

damn!
come on suzuki, pull thru with a full warrenty i say
would be better for them in the long run, good press instead of bad press....
good luck with the swap man, i hope it goes hickup free
