My daughter is complaining about the lack of output of the standard headlight.
Has anyone managed any improvement ??

Is the high beam light still working?

When we had ours high beam was not working, when this was fixed (bulb replaced) low beam was much better.

The current model GN's are known for having dodgy bulbs.

Check you haven't blown the main bulb. You'll have a slight glow from ... I can't reemember but I blew the main blub and drove for WEEKS thinking that was all the output was supposed to be..

download the service manual and I'm sure it will have the bulb you need written in there

Either A -throw the standard headlight away and fit an accessory H4 unit --itll bolt right on in there -cost about $100
Or pull the stock bulb out. Buy a H4 bulb from repco or similar and trim the locating tabs up till they fit in the bulb holder--Its a bit of stufing around and I suggest first effort be on a old bulb till ya get it trimmed right.pays to have a really sharp pair of sidecutters -

Tell me about it, mine blew 900ks after i bought my bike. bulbs aren't covered under warranty either, so of course they use the cheapest piece of shit they can.

Fairly good light after a bulb replacement. Better than the gpx250 anyway.

Oh wow, guy in the next cubicle has a GN250... guess what! Blown park and low beam within weeks of buying it!

/edit: He too thought the output was normal till the park light bulb blew as well. It was only after he replaced it, and told me that the 'low beam' was 5w that I said 'nooo way'. He was emphatic till I made him look at the main bulb... guess what, 2 filaments.

See if you can spot how i fixed that problem on my fiancee's GN... (as modeled by the lovely HXC. Ta Zac)

Thats right, spotlights. Also i threw away the original headlight insert and forced a halogen insert from Gb400 into the hole. Hey presto, headlights capable of melting the bumper right off that cage in front of you at the lights.

I do beleive you are only legally allowed one spotlight and two headlights, so i just unplug them at warrent time. Never had an issue.
