Just looked in the lastest EG suppliment from the Nz Herald today. There is going to be a documentry about Burt Munro hence 'The Worlds Fastest Indian'.

When: Saturday Feb 4 @ 9.45pm on TV1

Here is what they say about in the EG:

Director Roger Donaldson had a box office hit with the movie The Worlds Fastest Indian starring Anthony Hopkins. But his obsession with motorcycle racer Burt Munro started back in the 1970's when he made a documentry about him called Offerings to the God of Speed. This doco takes a look at Munro's achievements, including setting a land speed record on his motorcycle and a peek behind the scenes of Donaldson's movie.

If its real footage it will definately be worth watching...............

Cheers for that!

I think it will be original footage. I read somewhere that Anthony Hopkins used to watch the documentary footage before shooting scenes for the movie. Good on him for portraying his caracter in the most appropriate manner possible!:not:

Does anyone have a tape of the Feb 4 documentary Offerings to the God of Speed that they could copy for me.

I watched the programme live but I stuffed up the VCR settings.
My brother in the UK has asked if I can get a copy for him as it's never been shown there.

Just checked and I do still have it. Matter of fact I just watched it again. I can't copy it but if nobody closer comes up with anything I'll send you this copy. PM me your address.

Sorry - had it but taped over (because I'm sure that it will be included in the Special Features on the WFI dvd)
