I've just joined the Aussie 'chapter'. Their forum and a couple of others I'm on are nowhere near as active as good old Kiwibiker.

WTF have Ulysses got to talk about? This pile cream is better than that one?
My hearing aid batteries last longer than yours?
the delicate balance between Prozac and Viagra to ensure a good weekend?

Don't you have to be like really old, own a Harley and only like riding in straight lines on fine days to be a Ulyssian?

Now you got me baffled. I've been a member of Ulysses for a while, I've had a look at the discussion page and it doesn't appear to have changed. The website itself has a new front page but there's nothing flash about the discussion page. So am I looking at the wrong thing or what? Give us a link.

Hmmm, you only need to be 40 to be a junior member. Seems non-Ulyssians riding Jappers can't keep it up either.

Theres plans afoot to drop the minimum age to 35 as they have done with the Canadian Branch. Still doesnt stop anyone from joining in with the rides.

OK I can see I am too ambigious here:slap:
When you read the comments by our National Secretary about the spam we have been getting, you will see the link. I don't want to put the link up here so if you have trouble finding it, PM me.
It is a set up similar to this site, so you will be right at home.:blip:

Basically lack of numbers to keep going.
BUT the Ronnie Run is still on - 23 April 06. Auckland Ulysses have picked it up at Talamarkos request.

Will, the link to "Threaded Discussion" still takes us to the old threaded discussion page so what are you on about? Unless there is some secret link it is nowhere near like this forum and never was so I don't know how you can say it is similar. You can't post pictures or do anything flash like we do here.
Either that or spill the beans what is the link to the new flash page?

I am a Ulysses club member.
I go regularly to the monthly meetings. I live the farthest away (100km) and I am often the only member who turns up on a motorbike. Even to some of the ride In's!
There is a lot about Ulysses that I find very boring but you can say that about life in general. Even about this forum!
I remain a member because it's a "Bike club" and I have made some good friends amongst them and its "my choice" to remain a member.
I am quite proud to say that I am a Ulysses Club member. :headbang:
Different strokes for different folks I guess!
I also consider myself to be a loyal and "try to be" active "Kiwi Biker".
I went to the Vincent rally for the day yesterday especially hoping to meet up with some other KBer's.
I met up with a lot of fellow Ulysses club members and made some new friends but never met up with or was able to identify in the crowd, any Kiwi Bikers! That was disappointing.
Maybe they saw me before I saw them! :shit:
I have looked on the "Ulysses Webb site" and there is nothing like this forum that I can find.
I think it would be good to have but the thing I like most about this forum is that it reaches a very broad spectrum of, age, sex, geographic area and bike types and brands.
Now you can't get much better than that! Can you?
Ulysses "and" Kiwi biker! :yeah: Cheers John.

Hi oldrider. I just checked the kiwi Ulysses page and it looks like the forum is under "Threaded Discussion".
The Aussie forum is quite slow. Any forum would seem quite slow after K.B!

Talamarkos.
give Grumpy a buzz - he might know
The Talamarkos club has pretty much run out of puff. Had a small resurgance a few years ago but gradually the membership got to the stage where it became small group of mates going out for a ride so it didn't seem to make much sense to carry on with the "club" structure of things.
That is why the Ronnie Run was handed over. It became too much for a few people to handle and the main workhorse for the run has traded her bike in for a pram so instead of seeing the run suffer it was a good move to see if someone wanted to carry it on.
Good on ya Ulysses!
