I took the G to Alexandra for a Wof with Mum on the back. She said it took her back 50 years. Which gave me licence to increase the fang factor on the way back!
edit:
btw I was expressly forbidden by said Mum to have a bike as a youngster, probably just as well considering the road sense required.

The mother hates bikes. Made the old man give up his bikes when they got married. Don't think he ever forgave himself for that one. Best day of his life when my brother and I got our bikes. Worst day of my mum's life...

My mum hates bikes. There would be no way she would ever get on a bike. She even hates it when I take my girls out for a ride.
Oh well... each to there own

I said yes, as she did with my dad, but I don't know if she would get on the back of my bike. Maybe only if dad was riding it, which he wouldn't be

Mum was semi ok with me getting the ZZR250, but wanted absolutely nothing to do with the ZX7R. ;)

my mum hates me riding... thinks the bike looks better behind a car, 2 lawnmowers and a pile of old blankets in the garage... i shift the mowers and uplift the blankets often... but she still secretely tells my friends i'm riding with to go slow and have me home by dark.

On another note... what is it with guys not liking girls riding, none of my male friends like me riding....think i'll kill myself... and the latest was last night, a guy i used to pillion with all the time was like "i don't know about you riding".. like he was worried or something... me thinks double standards....

Yep even took my old mum on the Coast to Coast a couple of years back. Was taking it easy untill she leaned over and asked why everyone was passing us, after that it was up the speed even overtaking quite a few. She was given a water pistol before the ride & hung off the back squirting people.
Good fast ride to Herbertville, Mum seemed quite relaxed untill I told her how fast we had been going then she needed a drink.
Also took her out on the track on mine & Speedpro's bucket racing sidecar, sideways a few times. Excellent.

I would love to pillion my Mum but she has passed away.
She rode bikes, as did Dad, so I was brought up with bikes.
It's in the blood from both my paternal and maternal side.
But way back then, the bikes weren't fast.
I don't know what she would think of my latest, but Dad loves it, even though he can't lift a leg over it now.
You can see the love/addiction in his eyes.:Punk:

Nah, don't worry about it, we're not all like that. It's good to see more of you out there doing it. I was surprised to see how many chicks were on here when I first started lurking, tis a good thing. My daughter has just turned 15 and is saving for her 1st bike. In fact she's in her room studying the motorcyclists road code right now. She's not interested in a car licence at all. I don't think her mum's too keen on the idea though - oh well.

Mean while back on topic ...
My mum was dead against me getting a bike way back when - I bet she was real pissed with Dad when he came with a 50 for me one day. She never said anything to me about it, but he must been real unpopular - good on him.

Why would she? She rides her own Kwaka Meansteak 1500 (fun bike for a cruiser too btw).

She told me I was allowed to get a bike when I'm 40...... never have been very patient!!! lol

I have taken my mother pillion... but she hates it, she'd rather ride one of her own bikes.

Had my grandma on the back of the GT250 back in the late 70's, she was 89 at the time, rode around the car park of the rest home, she keep tapping me on the shoulder asking "are the old people watching?", would have taken her for a spin if I had a spare helmet.

Mother....never!
Mother in law, anytime and loves it. She has never had anything to do with bikes.

My Mum - never - but took my Dad for a little ride recently, not bad considering he's 87!

Hell No!

Mum to me: "Alex sweetie, bikes are dangerous"

Oakie

No.
Mum's been on a bike once. My big bother's Suzuki 125 about 30 years ago. He told her he'd show her how it goes.
"just sit there and let the clutch out here and twist the throttle here and away you go" he said
My brother swears he said "slowly" in relation to the clutch and throttle instructions. Mum swears he didn't.
Mum dumped the clutch, wrung the throttle, wheelied across the backyard and finished on her motherly bum in the gravel.
Couldn't be persuaded back onto a bike at gunpoint I don't think.

I just wish I'd seen it.

Apologies to those whose Mums are no longer with us. I hope I didn't hit too many raw nerves.
I should have added another poll option "why would she ride on back when she's got her own?"

Me old chook went for a ride on the back of a Harley about 7 years ago, first time on a bike and loved it! - (and it wasn't MY Harley either!)

She probably would, rode a Triumph and an AJS in her younger days, shouted her a Harley tour over on the Gold Coast for her 70th birthday couple of years ago:scooter:

Yes - have taken her on two of my fireblades and also on a blackbird. Took her up to 170kph on the blackbird.
