As some of you know there is currently a large number of Dutch Moto Guzzi fans touring NZ. They shipped 32 bikes over in a contain for a months holiday which is a pretty damn cool thing to do. They range from late 60's tourers to the latest and greatest!

I have one gent, Eric who is stranded in Kaikoura Top 10 Holiday park with a dead V11 (electrical problem) and he needs to get it to ChCh for repairs.

I have suggested he calls into the local trucking companies tomorrow morning but any other suggestions or help would be good.

Eric has a mobile phone but it is an international number so send a txt if you can help out (0031653714607) or call the camp ground? He is checking his email on v11eric@gmail.com.

These guys spent a lot of effort getting here and if someone can help him out I would be very grateful. If some small expense is required like gas or a trailer hire I will help out.

Many Thanks

Paul N

ps - We have had a whole herd of these guys through our place and they are all shit hot people and serious mileage riders. They will be on Guzzies with funny numberplates so say hi if you get a chance eh!

Sorry Paul- can't help. No towbar on the car. Its getting fitted tomorrow. There's one on my old work bomb but quite frankly I don't think the old girl would make it!

Surely some fanatical Guzzi fan who lives at the north end of town and has a ute with a towbar could help? If only we knew of someone like that...:innocent:

Good news folks

Eric, with advice from Australia, the USA (V11 forum and WildGuzzi) and Holland has messed about with his relays (old V11 issue which he was aware of) and his earth strap and other undefined issues has managed to get everything going again.

He should make the 180km to ChCh and claims it was no biggie and Kaikoura is a pretty cool place and he saw 5 whales, dolphins and some seals so he is a happy camper and currently maintaining his inner being in a bar some place...

Thanks you for the offers of assistance guys! One day I hope someone does the same for each of us and helps balance the deal! (not to say I hope you break down of course).

Thus far on this trip I have had 6 guests from the Netherlands at my place and caught up with 8 more. Talk about game riders! Not fast but how many of you would ship a 40 year old bike half way around the world and ride it (all riding not in groups) maybe 6,000km 2 up with full camping equipment? What an adventure and they do this sort of stuff regularly..

Give them a toot!
