And what the hell is that fluffy thing doing on your seat! Get it away, get it away! For God's sake man, its not a goldwing!

No but it saves me 3 months in applications and recomplpiancing for the Australian road rules tossers

It allowed me over the last two weeks to wake up each day and not think I had been staying at a mens prision as I toured the country

Fast sale needed as I leave the country at the end of next week, and want this off my head as I also have to sell my Skyline still

Thank God someone has already passed your reserve. That's a criminally low price for someone to pick up a stunning bike mate but dem's the breaks eh? I hope you top $9,000.

It was someone from here who bid, the reserve and start $ was $5500, I'm sick of watching auctions no one meets reserve on after days of bidding so I make start = reserve.

I'm hoping it will reach around that mark too, only time will tell, their is a few people watching it

Have found that low reserves generates a huge amount of attention. Started my Corolla at $300 and it sold for $1150. Ok, bad example...but good luck with your sale...

I'm kinda interested in that thur bike of yours Keeper. Tossing up between that and another bike down in Welli (annoyingly, as I like in Akl). You'll definitely get more than $5500 for it, that's for sure.

You'll ship at buyer's expense, I take it? I was planning to fly to whichever part of the country I buy in and ride back, but kinda hard to take spare wheels, filters, etc. back with me.

I might be able to store that kinda stuff for you for a short time Toast (in Wgtn anyway).

Cheers for the offer Skels...I'll definitely keep that in mind when the closing date gets closer (have got another bike in mind which is better for the road but not quite as good a track bike though). Nothing like a big trip down to pick up a new baby :)

I know - I always wait till the last 30 secs till the auction closes if I'm really serious on something.

But in this case I'm pretty comfortable spending 7k and don't feel like spending any more; so this way I put in my final bid and can forget about it until the auto reply sends me an e-mail saying I have lost or won.

If any of you bastards want it more than me - PAY UP :D

Go on Monkey - I dare ya.

What? Why not? We are keeping the thread alive while talking about the "bike sale". The first thing a person sees when he opens this thread is a silver ZXR for sale. The rest is garnish......

I think the term 'garnish' is a bit generous :)

At 30,000kms the valves will need too be checked, that is the only major service due
it's actually 24,000kms. Mine is being done at the shop at the moment.. still a way off yet tho

Yeah mebbe - though in marketing there's no such thing as "bad publicity".

The price has now reached a pretty decent amount for an ex-race bike. Good luck to whoever ends up with it.

I'm off.

hmmm, the service manual I got had it stamped under 30,000km check

regardless everyone please note the comment I added today

Seller Comment: *IMPORTANT UPDATE* We checked the silver paint tin today and as the lid hadn't been fitted correctly by the painters it has all dried up. The paint is from House of Kolor (there are NZ distributors) and is code MF02, can be seen on http://www.houseofkolor.com.au/4D.htm if this alters your view on a bid already made on the bike please tell me and I will remove it so not to make anyone feel ripped off at all, there is still plenty of the blue pearl *IMPORTANT UPDATE* 12:29 pm, Fri 10 Feb

the guy with leading bid for 3 days calls me today and asks to be taken off, he can't afford it now, then the next highest bidder said he had already committed the money when he didn't lead anymore, this blows

Hate it when people do that. I been trying to convince the little woman since you first advertised it to let me go talk to Mr Banker but sadly, no. I have to sit on the sidelines and watch a damn nice bike be snapped up cheap.

Keeper
13th February 2006, 16:38
yeah it sucks for me too, I just piled up all the spares http://photobucket.com/albums/a345/KeeperDave/ZX6%20Spares/ there is probably about $2-3k of spares in that lot! Factory service manuals, rims, discs, blinkers, mirrors, screens, im bashing my head against walls it feels

skelstar
13th February 2006, 16:48
I feel for you, its disapointing...but if he couldnt afford to pay for it in the first place, then he wouldnt have bid on it, and you probably would be where you are now. The second guy got out bid and thought 'thats me then' and allocated his money else where. I would.
Good luck with the sale none the less. There will enough people bidding in the last 10mins to jack the price up a bit. :niceone:

not keen on fake bids, the joker guy sorta had a right, if I was bidding on a bike at $7k and it went up and over it, I wouldn't wait 5 days before looking at another bike and I can't expect him too

at least someone else has bid now so looks like it might all be good

I didn't look at another bike. I have four months till I get my full. The only reason I bid on this auction was because of the bargain price. The bike would have then been put in storage if I won.

Over the weekend I spent $1000 on furniture that I really needed but was putting off buying due to the bike auction. Leaving me with a balance of $6100 cash.

At the most I could have offered you $6500 - but Peter Hansen had already topped that...... so I asked you to withdraw my bid.

If you will accept it - if for whatever reason the sale with Diesel falls through - I am still prepared to offer you the $6500. You can keep the spares at that price - and/or sell it to me at a later date.

says it all really, brings tears to my eyes thinking about a bargin that passed by. I was kicking myself all day at work thinking I should have gone to see Mr Banker anyway to come up with the $$ and tried to explain it away to the little woman later....

Oh well. Congrats on the sale but if I were you i would be extremely disapppointed at the sale price.

If you bid your limit on a auction on day 10 of a 14 day auction and your bid was urpassed by someone else within minutes of bidding, would you reserve that cash for four days when you know that someone has already outbid you?

I'm content, the winning bidder will try get it this week, they contacted us today

I dont know what the big fuss is about....the justsomeguy did what anyone else would do.....R u telling me if you got outbid in an auction and you had 7 grand in your back pocket, that you would wait to see if the other guy pulled out?? At the end of the day trademe regs state that the buyer is obliged to remove the bid if requested with reasonable notice.
