But will they let us do wheelies??? I've got the thou now and what were 2nd gear corners on the 750 would now be 1st gear corners on the thou which equals front wheel off the deck.
Nah, don't take that seriously. I might be keen, but in all honesty the open days are better value for money. (IMMHO)

But will they let us do wheelies???
No, they do not, under power exit corners etc they will let you get away with it but sustained on purpose wheelies they will black flag you for (ask Aaron:lol:)
the $50 normally gets you a lot more track time than you would at a open day with the oppurtunity for tuition from the club racers if you ask

I'd like to have a go, I enjoyed the training day SuziQ and I did last year, it would be nice to go out there and do it again. Maybe this time without the oil and grit on the sweeper before the straight?
I think I would have a lot more confidence now, having had a few months/kms on the bike too.
Whatdaya think SuziQ shall we do it again? :apumpin:
Maybe get Speedygirl to try out as well? :spudwave:

Yeah I'll be out there one way or the other, wouldn't mind taking the Guzzi for a strop around the track...... having said that being a licenced racer, if anyone wants me to follow/lead them around in never ending circles then I'm happy to help, all I'd have to do is ask the organisers.....
Kickaha how bout you? (not to lead you around, cos I do that at race meetings anyway... but to help anybody wanting that bit extra guidance)

Don't get me wrong Kickaha, fully rate the track days as it's a bike only day, plenty of riders of different skill level, etc. Both have got their pros and cons.

Wheelies are bad, mmmkay? They should allow a wheelie period during lunch. Maybe if someone approached the officials before the event, unlike on the actual day like last time, they will let us out.

They did allow a luchtime session one other time about a year or so ago, so it may be worth a try

Theres always something to put a dampner on learning.
If it wasn't for the "Riding Gear you will need" I could've made it.
Having to replace my helmet and buy boots/leathers is far too costly.
Doubt they'll give 90% discount in exchange for attending this event.

Talk to motorcycling Canty (there is a contact in the details), they will often be able to help out with issues like this, especially for newbies, they like to encourage them... for the leathers part anyway.
And by the way, dungeree/over shoulder type leather pants and jacket is okay, as they dont come off easily cos they do up over your shoulders. Thats what I have.
Dunno about the helmet, that part really should be less than 10 years old anyway, even just to be safe on the roads

Bloody awesome day, but very tiring.
Dont think I have ever spent so much time on the track as yesterday, alltho it was a HAG day... well ya still push the boundarys aye:stupid:
Well as I had 4 bikes to get out there and prep I shat the bed and was amongst the 1st to arrive followed in by Kickaha, we signed up and were then asked to put the flags out... sweet take the 4x4 turb for a strop round the track, well bugger it Kick said we will have a trailer on :oi-grr:
Flags out and then Kick remembers that he forgot the fire extinguishers so round we went again, Rashika who was sitting back seat said lets do a runner on kick and let him walk back... I said no way hes such a decent prick... I mean bloke we cant do that :msn-wink:
1st out was C class where I followed Rashika and SuzuQ to offer advice once back in the pits (for all I know)
Both girls rode very well SuziQ even getting her arse of the R6, but I think she may have just been pointing it at hubby 30UTD in a marshels box as he was to crippled to ride, good one Suz rub it in :wavey:
all I can say is that they should take the turns from a bit wider out and to use the gears a bit more other than that bloody nice riding.
After following Suz I blasted pass to catch Rashika and while doing this on the back straight kink the side stand dug in putting me in a two wheel drift, well believe you me the pinch mark in my nice Iti seat is still there, might have to put it out in the sun to see if it will sofen up and shrink out.
Tell ya what tho, it was amazing how smooth the bike was sliding like that it was like I was riding on air :weird:
B class and I snuck out (after removing side stand) shouldn't have as I am a licenced rider so should have done clubmans, but what the hell, the V11 needed a hiding and that it got :spudflip:
was out in 2nd possie with a K5 750 in front we were going in to turn 1 rather hot, but I droped back just as the K5 locked the front up and had it slid out with the bike flipping over rooting both sides and landing on its nose, I followed it of the track and got the thumbs up from the rider so I booted it on out a there.
streetstock and Rashika was keen to ride my CB125T bucket and I followed on the MT/MB bucket, I dont know what she thought would happen when ya open the taps up, but she seemed to be looking around as if something was missing (100hp & 100kph)
Clubmans and I went out on the MT/MB100 bucket gave it the beanies and had it shit out as usual bout the 3rd lap, bloody thing is either over fueling or starving of gas.
repeated the round then on the 4th round I went out on the R6 of SuzukQ's in B class, man them 600's have some decent balls, fuking flys I tell ya.
Clubmans again and after a bit of sweet talking I had Rashika's Buell and on one wheel I was out of there, man its a fun bike, was running 2nd with a rather fast kawa400 behind me... well till it gave up the ghost and blew up on him :violin:
And that concluded the day, thanks to Rashika & SuzuQ for the ride, keep up the good riding girls :niceone:

it's running rich you cock if it was leaning out it'd already be dead
He always makes that excuse because every time he rode it or his other one got his arse kicked well and truly by me :bleh:
Highlight of the day for, coming through the infield sweeper right on the arse of another bike closing him down into the right left before the dipper then making the pass around the outside of a GSXR1000 while I am on my FXR150 bucket  beating him around the sweeper onto the straight only to have him pass me and chasing him the whole lap to make another pass around the outside coming off the sweeper onto the main straight
Last session and Me and Tony Mac swap bikes (both FXR150) and go out passing and repassing each other a couple of times a lap, he's better on the brakes but I carry more corner speed and see 147kmh on the speedo into turn 1, his bike with only 12000km on it feels much better than my 38,000km porrly maintained shitter but they are both very even in performance, but he beat me over the line by a length, but a great time running against him:niceone:

ahem... SOMEONE mentioned something about leaving him behind... but I wouldn't be THAT nasty :oi-grr:
all I can say is that they should take the turns from a bit wider out and to use the gears a bit more other than that bloody nice riding.
yeah...and AFTER you took my bike out you concluded that some of the gears on my bike have such a huge range, esp 2nd that changing down was pointless... first just ran out way too quick... and I was prob doing it right anyway :bleh: Even managed to get to top gear a few times along the straight, but not quite get to 200km...190 something...damn wish i had a digital speedo, looking at the wavering little needle is damn hard at close to 200kms. And that straight runs out REAL DAMN QUICK I tell ya!
Clubmans again and after a bit of sweet talking I had Rashika's Buell and on one wheel I was out of there, man its a fun bike, was running 2nd with a rather fast kawa400 behind me... well till it gave up the ghost and blew up on him :violin:

Bloody hell! I wrote a nice big post only to have it dissappear when the system logged me out!! Normally hitting the back button retrieves the post .... not today. GRRRRRRRRR!
Right, I just want to say MUCH respect to Nipper who made me look like a complete TWAT in the last session. Nipper has been on the comeback trail after a nasty smash and some broken bones a while back. After yesterday I get the feeling he's well and truly back. Here I am on my FZR1000 blowing his RG150 away on the straights, but he's so much quicker than me into and through the corners that by the dipper he's trying to get past, and then on the sweeper he rode around the outside of me. This happened for the entire session. Oh the shame...
Oh well, well done Nipper! :2thumbsup That was a top effort and a heap of fun. Good to see you've excorsized your demons. I look forward to trying to keep up in the winter buckets series- BRING IT ON!

I must say i quite enjoyed riding the bucket, it corners so much quicker than the big bikes, just a shame that you could sit and have a cuppa from one end of the straight to the other... and i got the hang of the race gearing really easily, too damn easily in fact...I had REAL trouble trying to ride the Buell afterward, kept missing the gears up and down fk it all!

Well I suppose anything is possible but do you really think?? No mention anywhere else on a 'dodgey' front end on any of these bikes, in fact some of the best handling motorcycles on the road. I believe myself that it is down to how popular these bikes are and how hard people try to ride them. Were his tyres warmed up D?

Wow, first I've heard of it. I know GSXR's are tyre sensitive, it is a tyre issue more than a geometry or chassis design issue? The 600 and thou are very similar in their setup, do these suffer from the same problem?

I had an absolute blast. the first session was not long enough. i was just getting into my stride when we had to come in. Luckily I was following someone as I did not see the flag. C class was brilliant as there were only about half a dozen riders in it. D was with us as well. 2nd session and I was into it, moving around in the seat, getting my knee out etc. I even pulled away from D on the home straight - made my day when he told me!!!! I got up to 210 on the straight once during the day - fastest I have been on the track. I was buzzing. Could have done with a bit more time on the track - a little longer each session, but then we would have had less sessions so you can't win!! 30UTD is my hero, he was only coming out for the morning, too pissed off about not being able to ride to cope with a full day. When they called for volunteers to be a flag marshal so we could use the dipper he put his hand up without any prompting. We were all told by the organisers to thank the marshalls, so 30UTD got hugs allround!!! :niceone:
Riding the Buell was an experience. First time on the Buell and I found it soo completely different to the R6 - of course. Couldn't get to the magic 200Kms, but did manage to redline it by mistake!!!
I was hoping hubby would get some photos of me on the track, but as he was a marshall didn't get any of me. At least Rashika got a couple on different bikes! :msn-wink:

Have to thank his old man tho, after his speach about NO wheelies at riders breif... in the last race were I was on the Buell I was getting a bit carried away, Nipper senior looked at me in the pits and said ' I saw nothing'
