On the way home from this mornings ride up SH16 to Wellsford, Crashe and I were at the lights at the top of the NW motorway. We had had a quick discussion a few minutes before about how she's been ragged on (excuse the pun) by some KBers about how she hangs at the back while the young fellas on their sprot bikes bugger off into the distance. So I suggested she opened it up a bit and I'd clock her to see how she did.
Well the results are in, and before I reveal the final figures, I hope her speedo is okay, as the needle must have been trying to bash it's way through the glass!!
So here it is folks, terminal velocity for a Yamaha Virago 250 with a Crashe on board........
125 km/h :thud:
(Results may have a margin of error of +/- 30 km/h)

That's for the benefit of Mr Plod :shake:

You might have to factor in the 3 km/h downward trajectory for the slight hill as well :2thumbsup

Max speed limit is 100. Less spent on tickets = more to spend on petrol.
110 ish doesn't usually attract unwanted attention :Police:

How could you ms crashe?? :slap:
You will never manage to better that 30 000km + figure for tyres if you keep committing such hoonish behaviour

Remember, you read it here on KB first!.:niceone: Crashe was spotted at the Westpac Ride testing an 1100.:gob: After some initial difficulty coping with the taller riding position, she seemed to be quite confident.
Watch out fellow KBers.
PS: Thanks Nodman for the use of the bike.:niceone:

Awwwwww gee officer I wasn't really going that fast.... Honest I wasn't.
Krayy - Cheers for clocking my speedo... I had it up to 130+ on my speedo... so it looks like I need to get a few things adjusted...
Rhino - cheers for the pic's. I had fun on the bike today on the Westpac run.
Smorgen - Yep you sure did
Gremlin - That was 34,000km on the back tyre... and still counting well past that on the front tyre.
I really only cruise at 100 to 110 all the time.

Downhill with a tail wind on my old Virago 250 I got $1.40Not bad. My ol '77 CJ250 could do an indicated 1,40 on a still day. This was back in 1979.
Fuck, that just reminded me why I prefer bike with a centre stand. The CJ never had one and one of my first maintenence tasks on a m/c was to replace it's front wheel bearings. Had to lay the thing over on it's side to remove the front wheel.
