Awesome news mate, I can remember similar experiences from when I was your age, fucken exhilerating isn't it? 16yrs old and getting around on a CBR250R, fuck when I was 16 I had to nick my brothers GSX250 (think 1984 model), at 18 my first real road bike was an ancient 1983'ish GSX750, but fuck it went.
Live it up mate, but take care out there.

and D-L
yea they say thay are 45 hp standard, but i think its all shit. It always is when it comes to HP.
as i said. Its tachinally a brand new engine with porting. So i think it will be about 40hp

11th February 2006, 22:24
40hp seem enough to move you though:zzzz: hahahaha i was looking at a cbr250rr or two in the palmy honda shop and next time im over there i may take one for a fang:rockon: i'll ride it hard and see how well they go, ive riden a zxr250 and they tootle along rather well:bleh: and it just sounds sooooo kewl pulling 19500 rpm in an enclosed area [victoria tunnel:blink: ] but the bros makes my crack a fat anywhere

Good work matey. Glad to see you are back on a good bike.
BTW the revs should cut out at 18500rpm (I think) and the bike will be making 38hp at most. Mines a bit of a freak at 46, but thats cuase of some previous work

awesome:banana: now you just have to disconect the speed limiter.
i want to get some mild cams and re- port the bros650. atleast i have something to save for:2thumbsup and i have to get indvidual podfilters for her so it has a fuckload of induction noise and get a stage 3 jet kit:chase: and racetech springs........ and gold valve emulators....... or just a cbr600 f3 front end....... etc etc etc the list goes on

Yep and yep
it revs out at 18500, but the dail goes to 20000 so i just say that. Sounds cooler.
and yea i think your right about the power.
oh why does yours have 46?? TELL ME

Good to hear that its screaming again.
If you have a MC19, the rev limiter is really at 17,230 rpm. I recon with a bit of tweaking of the ignition curve you could get 50hp out of it.

My old MC19 saw North of 19k many a time. Maybe the previous owner, who built racebikes apparently, had a fiddle...not sure.

Never believe a dial - my dial says the engine goes to 19,000 too, but I measured that ignition map myself (bloody time comsuming work it was too). The absolute highest I got get a spark out of it was at 17,232 rpm. Its just the same as the new R6 revving to 17,500 (thats what they said, but it only goes to 15,800 or something). My home build speedo/odo/rev counter has only ever shown a max of 17,250 - this isn't totally accurate as it takes the closest value with 50rpm steps, but it is a shite load more accurate than the dial.

By building a new ignition module... not the simplist - I haven't bothered to fully trace out the electronics of the one in there, and it would be pointless anyway - there are two ASIC (custom logic chips) inside it and who knows how the hell they work apart from Honda and Oki? <-- yes the same guys who make printers!
I'm going to be making my own one - will be quite an involved project though.

Fixin' shit rocks. And I had similar troubles with a Suzuki Carry (mad ass little 660cc truck things they import), took me a couple days to get the leads right 'cause no one could tell me.

All gauges have an error in them. The stock rpm gauge on your bike is really only good for compairing RPM from one day to the next. The one on your mates bike might be different.
