Why thank you Dave :)

It must have been over 6 months since I last rode or even sat on my 600! All it needed was a little spacer that was lost and a little alloy bending job on the foot rest to get it going again. For one reason or another, I simply didn't feel like riding anymore so my bike had been sitting in my garage, collecting dust...

Then all of a sudden yesterday, I thought "hmm... I wana ride my 600 now". So on Saturday morning, I drove to TS's place and borrowed me a set of headlights. After working the magic of a lot of cable ties and installing some legal look alike bits and a quick service... t'da! I got me a naked GSXR 600!

Weather at the start of the day was sunny as ever which only made me feel more excited and eager, like a little kid about to go to the toy store!

What better way to rejoyce some awesome riding memories, than blasting through our very own State Highway 22! As my ride began, even going on the straights on my 600, using only half the power was a little scarry. I was thinking "fuck this is FAST!". A few minutes and twistes later, it all came back to me like a sweet sweet child hood memory. Motha Fukin A!! This is what it's all about! This is what I have been missing out on for.... let's just say far too long!

I had a quick stop where I took the attached pic below. Hmm... A quick inspection of the tires indicated that I had no chicken strips on the rear tire but I was still not putting on the power hard enough through out the turns... But still not a bad effort for just getting back into it. The front chicken strip however was a "tad" bit more embaracing... Like an ugly 1 incher!! Fuck I'm a pussy...

So off I went, all the way to Ngarawahia, charging a bit harder this time. Had a quick stop at a petrol station and a feed. Chicken strips on the front had now come down to a more respectable standard. Sweet, I'm 'da shit' eh! Now all I needed was someone to ride with... So, I texted my mates John and Vladi to see if they were out riding and a few seconds later out of pure coincedence, what do you know. John and his mate Steve rides straight past me.. Despite my desperate attempts to jump up and down and wave like an excited high school cheerleader, they didn't see me.. D'oh!

What is left of the pie get's biffed in the bin, helmet goes on, gloves on... Damn it, I forgot the ear plugs... FFS! So, gloves off, helmet off, ear plugs in, helmet on, gloves on, ziped up the suit and hopped on the bike.... A few kids (aka potential fans) around the block seemed pretty interested in my rushed behaviour, so I thought I'd be cool and do a quick wheelspin U'ie like a dirt bike... Let's just say I'm out of practice and the bike stalled... Now the only thing that was desperatly trying to hold on to my pride was my wiggely little chicken leg trying to stop the bike from tipping over! Luckily for me, even my scrawny legs have some meat in them, so the day was saved. Phew!!

Now fast forwarding all the way to the ride again.. I was on a mission, to try to catch up with my mates. thoes of you who know John know that my attempt to catch up to him on my rangi 600 was foolish and not going anywhere, but I had no one else to play with so I tried my best anyway. After about 20 mins of quick riding, some of it in partial wet conditions, I realised that I wouldn't be able to catch up to John no matter what, cause he's faster than me and I would have left a good 2.5 minutes behind him from Ngarawahia. Then just as I gave up hope and started crusing around, I see Steve having a break on the road side and John turning round. Sweet!!

After catching up with them, we set out to return home and I tried to keep up with them. I tried, but who was I kidding? These guys ride quick and I only just got back into it after a long time. I think they were taking it easy today so I managed to keep them in sight (just), for a while till it started getting a bit damp and my balls gave out. All it took was a quick flash back down memory lane, lowsiding at Manfield twice in a row in the wet. I have to sell my 600 so I took the sencible option and backed right off. Well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

So all in all, an AWESOME day out!! I feel knackared because my body isn't used to riding a 600 fast ATM. Specially since I stopped my fitness training for racing and body building a while back. But as tired as I am right now physically, mentally I feel so much stronger and happier. The only way to describe it would be, living like a zombie. Being only partially alive and then after riding, becomming a complete person again and feeling 100% alive. Life rocks!!

Oh and Dave, we still have to settle some old scores from last time. I can't wait to ride with you again mate. It's gonna be WICKED!

P.S. Loose (like a slut) Bruce is a homo.

I still am, I just test rode the bike to make sure every thing on it works OK. Everything does work perfectly on it BTW. Someone buy it! It's a wicked track bike! Comes with a full set of mint black race fairings that'll make it look the business.
