I can't comment on the PPowers but I have just worn out a set of Pirelli Diablo Corsa's. The Pirellis were excellent tyres! very sticky in the dry! didn't really get to push them in the wet as I don't really ride in the rain but would definitely purchase them again. Currently on the new Avon Vipers, so will be interesting to see how they are compared to the Pirelli's.

Shop around mate. Should be able to get those powers for $500. Is the bike ever in Auckland? Plain diablo's should be $500 as well, not up with the going rate for the corsa's.

There are no bad tyres these days....I reckon the difference is marginal and probably a personal thing.......I have not looked at the Diablo's but the problem with my Sports was that the front had plenty of tread but had scollopped so had to be replaced whereas my new Powers will not do that due to the tread pattern....they reckon the Powers will last longer...unless you are Loose Bruce!!!!

Get pilot powers or i'll bash ya :angry2: there that should be enough to sort it. Diablos are shit in the wet, Powers are the shit in the wet. Both are very good tyres but i lean for the Michleins always.
Plsu i've heard of a few fast guys i know egtting good mileage out of the powers

I was told the same for Powers...something to do with the silicon......have had no probs with Powers in the wet but guess if you only get 2,000ks on a good day.......

Im running Corsa's here as well, Awesome on a dry road but I have had the rear wheel trying to overtake the front wheel in the wet, very sticky tyre as others have said. They are wearing out pretty quick too so i going to try BT014's next.

Im only running the Diablos and they hang on fucking well(still only getting 3500k out of a rear, about 4500 out of front...) I believe the Corsas are a bit softer so they should be better.... Mind you Ive only ever used Pirellis and are happy with them so no need to change brands...Im sure with tyre technology these days they are all pretty much the same and will do the jobbie more than adequately
Over and out :)

Like most here I wear out tyres at an alarming rate and tend to try something new when the front needs replacement.
I have had Pilot Powers , Diablo Corsas and BT014's in that order.
They are all excellent tyres , however I found that the Pilot powers stepped out at the rear on two occasions on a dry track. Nothing severe but enough to upset my confidence in them. Were fine on the road.
The Diablo Corsas are brilliant in the Dry, stick like glue and have never given me a moment. Not so hot in the wet but OK. Great on the Track also.
The BT014's are excellent road tyres , superb on a wet or greasy road , alround my favourite of the 3 and they hang together well. They do seem to ball up abit on the track with what seemed reasonably average speeds.
Conclusion
They all last about the same and are all good for sporty riding and rubbish for touring.Choice? I think the Bridgestones are the all round choice.

500 sounds good!!!! i'd come to aucks for a deal like that...
could you recommend a place that will do them for that sort of figure?
the rrp is more than that for the rear alone, whats up with that

I ran the Pilot roads on the gixxer last year. It did an unbelievable 10K. I could not get rid of it quickly enough. it stepped out all the time. The 750 pulled big lumps out of it when it was cold. Bloody good ride in the wet but just not for the harder riding on this little 750. The pilot sport ( or the diablo  )are the ones I like. Only 3-4K but what a great 3-4 K. No pending pain with them, on this bike anyway.

Hahahaha no i am not old enough to remember ww2. But then they italians didn't do nuclear testing in our back yard or commit criminal acts of war in peace time here either.
Its got nothing to do with PC (Political Correctness). more like pc (personel choice). Anyway what did the french do in ww2? Played roll over? Left Kiwis and poms to die for them? oops getting off topic now hahahaha. Better stop before i offend someone (else).

I'm keen to get some of those Pilot Powers myself, but are there different compounds etx. or is that just the Pilot Race tyre? I've head "Michellin M2" being mentioned a bit. Which is which?

Pirelli won the NZ Superbikes this year, the michelin users changed to Pirelli!!
Just an idea, but these tyres are for road use? Look at what brand wins on the road in the UK race scene, always Pirelli

Gets more confusing.......could have been a race wear issue which us mere mortals would not have such an issue with....who knowz eh?

It had nothing to do with race wear, thats an excuse used by people when they have chosen the wrong compound or have poorly set up suspension.
Its just that the pirellis are THE TYRE on the track here in NZ. I use them (Dragon super corsa pro or Diablo) on the street and get good mileage from them. (4000Km)
The pirellis are easy to set up and great grip with a progressive feel when they move. Unlike Michelins which (in my experience) snap sideways without any movement first.

Ummmm yea, them, hiding in the shadows, unable to confront the enemy head on, Resistance needs to be practiced by the many to be effective. :done:
Its like motorcycling, all fragmented, no coordination, take a potshot at someone and move on. If we ever get orginised we could change the governments mind on lots of the issues that face us, but whats the chance of that.........? :soon:

Okay........only prob I have had with my Powers is when they are medium hot and I feel the odd kick out but I only have an SV1000S so I am happy and the 'kick' feels secure........

Me and Fish got nailed in the tight stuff from Tairua to Whangamata by a well known racer on a Husaberg 630 on Pirelli SLICKS.... never seen em before but want a set :) btw I nailed him back on the high speed corner stuff.... he said he followed me around 1 corner about 200 and i was silky smooth and he was flapping about all over the place lol

well folks, ive just scrubbed in the new pilot powers......
they are AMAZING!!!!!
totally changed the way the bike feels and turns.
the first few hundred metres on them riding away from having them fitted they felt a little strange (read different), but after i got used to them, well, i have never felt so "in control".
I thought that my new bike was awesome b4.......
now its fu*#ing awesome!!!!!!
a whole new beast etc
